Product Description
High intelligence may predict your speed at solving math problems or whether you will win a Nobel Prize, but it doesn’t guarantee success, happiness, or personal fulfillment. Being smart in life requires much more than a high IQ. A more reliable indicator of happiness potential is your EQ—Emotional Quotient: the measure of your emotional depth and dexterity. Satisfying relationships rely on "romantic intelligence"—a set of attitudes and behaviors that work together to build fantastic partnerships. From this practical book, learn how to enhance emotional self-awareness. Practice emotional honesty and deal with toxic emotions: jealousy, competition, control, and dependency. Understand what really makes love work and how to make it happen.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 3 reviews)

A lot of fluff, but a lot of meat, too. by I. Wiegman (St. Louis, MO) 4 Stars

This book is probably better for the high school and college crowd. There are a lot of passages that do little work for the point the authors are trying to make. They'll go on for a while about what an emotionally intelligent person is like, but then say very little about how one develops the skills to become one. Then there are passages where there is a lot of really good, densely packed information on exactly that point. There are also exercises in the book, and most of them seem really worthwhile.

Great Book! by Leo Bloom (Ipswich, PA) 5 Stars

I loved this book. Very helpful for both my girlfriend and me. I've given it to friends as well. Drs. Valentis know how to explain things in a smart yet easy to understand way. They understand the importance of emotional honesty and how it resonates throughout your entire life. I cannot recomend this book highly enough.

Smart and Strong by Phillip Arensberg (Seattle, WA United States) 4 Stars

The flood of self-help books has brought an inundation of bad advice. It's refreshing to read a book that actually has something to say. Drs. Valentis (Mary and John) provide a context and a level of empathy that instructs and encourages growth and intimacy without being either pedantic or purile. There are no instant fixes, no pablum filled chicken soups for the soul, just common sense combined with a smart, well educated and sensitive approach. This book is a road map, but it's up to the reader to do the driving.
