EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Give Morale, Productivity, and Profits a Genuine, Lasting Boost How is it that companies spend billions on recognition programs, yet most employees feel unrecognized? Here Cindy Ventrice zeroes in on what truly makes employees feel valued and lays out proven recognition tactics that will provide a genuine, lasting boost for your business. Ventrice demonstrates that integrating the intangible rewards people crave--praise, thanks, opportunity, and respect--into the daily routine is far more effective than typical recognition awards, events, perks, and privileges, and she shows exactly how to do it. Follow her advice and you'll save money while obtaining better results than ever before. This second edition features new examples from innovative companies like Best Buy, Cisco Systems and Google, as well as detailing how to provide recognition in increasingly virtual workplaces, account for cultural differences in reward preferences, and ensure that rewards are perceived as fair and equitable. |

| Make Their Day - Made My Day! by Banjo 5 Stars October 13, 2009 Make Their Day by Cindy Ventrice is well organized, with plenty of "real life" examples on what "to do" and "what not to do" when it comes to recognizing employees. I found the book easy to digest. I am in the process of using some of the concepts presented to improve the recognition of our blood drive donors at our company. You will be pleased with your purchase.
| | Great stories. Packed with ideas. by Noah Blumenthal (NY USA) 5 Stars October 01, 2009 This is my kind of book! Interesting stories, fun to read, with powerful insights on every page. Bravo!
Make Their Day makes you want more peers, more direct reports, even more managers, just so you can provide them all with recognition. This book is equal parts inspiring, practical, and wise. After each chapter you will want to run out to use the techniques - to create a more energized, passionate, effective and productive team around you. (And oh by the way, it will also have all of those effects on you.)

| | Make Their Day, 2nd edition by John P. Schuster (Kansas City, MO) 5 Stars September 03, 2009 Cindy Ventrice is the expert's expert on the power of recognition. She describes the whys for deeper understanding, and adds all the what, the who, the how that you will need to do recognition the way it should be done. I have recommended Make Their Day countless times when I get all those sticky questions of fairness, effectiveness, finding unique ways to do this. As you can tell I am a fan of this book and for good reasons, I think. If it has a weakness, I think she could have made the book longer with even more examples.
