Product Description
In 2004, Dr. Robert T. Cochran published Understanding Chronic Pain, a ground-breaking work exploring the links between pain, depression, childhood trauma, substance abuse, and bipolar disease. A companion to that work, Curing Chronic Pain demonstrates the advancements Cochran has made in successfully treating patients suffering from pain. He has found that chronic pain, a single core illness, can be alleviated with the careful application of certain drugs, even those in the controversial opiate class. In many cases, Cochran says, miraculous cures have been achieved. Presented in a conversational, anecdotal format, this book examines the specific experiences of chronic pain patients under Cochran's supervision. As a reader you will be struck by Cochran's warmth, compassion, intellect, and willingness to confront the complicated issues surrounding treatment. There is hope in Curing Chronic Pain.

New chapter for chronic pain? by Nurse Z 4 Stars
November 04, 2009
This is a very educated, well written book that looks at a different aspect for chronic pain patients. I would love to see some article that may have been published by this author. This is an in depth view in to the practice of a physician who is very caring and motivated in helping his patients try to find relief for their pain. There are only a handful of physicians with the heart and devotion left practicing in such a caring manner, since the insurance companies and the government keep reducing the reimbursements every year, but that is a different subject. Great look into the minds, hearts, and treatment of patients with chronic pain.

This book is a "must read" for anyone suffering from chronic pain and/or bipolar disorder or depression. For those who have lost hope of further recovery, you will find it again within the pages of this book. (You will want to buy two copies - one for yourself and one for your physician.) "Curing Chronic Pain" should be required reading for all physicians and psychiatrists.

Eugenia Price was a master of writing historical novels about real characters and injected relationships as God created them to be. An easy and sweet read for any age.
