I have read many books on weight loss & strength training & never have I read something quite like this. I found myself reading the book & it almost seemed like the book was written for me specifically. There were so many things that related to me in the book it made me laugh at times. I liked when he wrote about excuses & how "I will wait until after the holidays to start getting in shape" and things like that. His motivation tools are phenomenal and his insight on strength training & nutrition are second to none. Thanks Tom!!

I'm a trainer, and I've been a huge fan of Tom Venuto's for years. His e-book, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle I consider a fitness classic and required reading for anyone serious about their physique goals. I've been using a lot of his strategies for myself and my clients forever. They work. So, as soon as this book came out, I ordered it! I ended up giving it to one of my long time clients who had been gaining and losing the same 5lbs over and over again. She wouldn't journal and she wouldn't do the goal setting homework I tried to get her to do and she couldn't stick to a diet for more than a few weeks. I was very fond of her though, she worked really hard in the gym and had lost about 4% body fat and gotten really strong, back pain disappeared, she could run up the BART stairs now... but really she didn't look much different and still needed to lose scale weight to appease her doctor. She came to me and said she wanted to see results and this time, she would do whatever I told her, no matter how tedious it seemed. So I told her she had to start a food log and read this book. She lost 20lbs in 2 months. She said dieting suddenly became EASY. She didn't have all the cravings and hang ups she normally did that ended up sabotaging her efforts. I KNEW she would feel that way! I was ecstatic! I honestly can't recommend this book enough. It is recommended reading for all my clients, especially those struggling with dieting. I also really like the fact that it is a very balanced and reasonable diet -- it's not low fat or low carb, you don't have to completely eliminate anything. It's very doable as a lifestyle and the explanation for why we compulsively overeat and the solutions provided work wonders.

Tom Venuto did a great job covering some critical topics on Weight Loss, including Caloric Deficit, Stress, Junk Food, and how to work out for maximum results in minimal time.
