good textbook by Roger D. Mumford 5 Stars

this is a very good textbook for people going into the heath information feild. I myself is using this text now in one of my classes.

Terrible book for any program except RHIA by teacher (minnesota) 1 Stars

I chose this book because I thought the AHIMA would endorse a good book for a Health Information Foundations class. I was wrong. This book is written so far above and beyond any beginning class, I am amazed it is actually endorsed for anything but a BA degree. The concepts in this book are so advanced that my students are just dying out. Plus, there is barely any supporting information related to the concepts, principles and regulations that they introduce. I would not recommend this book for anything less than an RHIA program. I am deeply disappointed by this book.

Boring, but informative 3 Stars

Although I had to have my husband stab me every few minutes to keep me awake, this book helped me get an A in my class. The book is for the most part easy to understand, but some of the exercise questions were somewhat confusing. An answer sheet for the "Check Your Understanding" sections would've been extremely helpful to let you know if you were getting the meaning of the chapter. Like I said...stay awake & you'll do fine.
