The book opens with essential information on fundamental techniques of CT angiography, normal coronary anatomy, and anatomic variations. Individual chapters address coronary artery disease, risk assessment with calcium scoring, heart valve assessment, cardiac morphology, and cardiac function. The book also covers advanced topics including CT evaluation of coronary bypass grafts and coronary stents, and CT guidance for electrophysiology and percutaneous cardiac interventions. An accompanying DVD-ROM features high-quality three-dimensional displays of cardiac anatomy and more than 100 cine displays of cardiac function in real clinical applications. <br><br>Highlights:<br>*Special emphasis on the complementary nature of anatomic and functional cardiac information helps the clinician optimize patient care <br>*Clinical protocols provide step-by-step guidelines for coronary CTA and triple scans for evaluating coronary arteries, aorta, and pulmonary arteries<br>*Practical discussions of the evaluation of coronary anatomy, heart valves, and function<br>*Coverage of advanced issues in cardiac CT such as plaque characterization, evaluating cardiac status of postoperative patients, and planning interventional procedures<br>*More than 650 carefully labeled CT images demonstrate key concepts<br>*Parallel organization of the DVD-ROM and book chapters enables the reader to rapidly locate relevant cine displays <br><br>Comprehensive and up-to-date, this book is an indispensable reference for beginners and experienced radiologists, echocardiographers, interventional cardiologists, and cardiac surgeons. Good book for Cardiac CT by Dr. Bobby A. John (Australia) 4 Stars
May 20, 2008
Good book for Cardiac CT for beginners and also as a reference textbook for any department doing cardiac CT. Easily readable and good CT images throughout. Initial chapter on how to do cardiac CT gives a good review of indications/techniques/drugs and protocols to be used. Chapter on CT coronary anatomy and anomalies is good. Rest of the chapters on coronary arterial disease, stents etc. are thorough and readable. CD provided gives decent images but the CD can't be used as an interactive cardiac CT tutor for case studies. Makes one understand the basics and the pathology concerned and makes one more confident to start off with Cardiac CT. Definitely worth the price.

Cardiac CT Imaging: Diagnosis of Cardiovascular Disease

Cardiac CT Imaging: Diagnosis of Cardiovascular Disease
by Matthew J. Budoff (Editor), Jerold S. Shinbane (Editor)

CT is an accurate technique for assessing cardiac structure and function, but advances in computing power and scanning technology have resulted in increased popularity. It is useful in evaluating the myocardium, coronary arteries, pulmonary veins, thoracic aorta, pericardium, and cardiac masses; because of this and the speed at which scans can be performed, CT is even more attractive as a cost-effective and integral part of patient evaluation. This book collates all the current knowledge of...

Atlas of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography

Atlas of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography
by Matthew J. Budoff (Editor), Jagat Narula (Editor), Stephan S. Achenbach (Editor)

"Atlas of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography" is a comprehensive atlas containing photomicrographs, anatomic illustrations, tables, and charts paired with extensive legends and explanations that are supplemented by extensive research, peer-reviewed articles, and textbooks. In addition to providing historical perspective and current direction for computed tomography, this atlas focuses on research involving coronary artery diseases and anomalies, congestive heart failure, atherosclerotic plaques...

Cardiac CT Angiography Manual

Cardiac CT Angiography Manual
by Robert Pelberg (Author), Wojciech Mazur (Author)

To date, few, if any, simplified, concise, relatively small and portable books exist to ease the training in the field of cardiac CTA. There are no books written from the point of view of secondary end users who are secondarily trained. Books to date are mainly extensive, large texts that assume a certain basic knowledge. A so called "manual" and reference guide explaining this technique from beginning to end in simple prose will thus be of tremendous value.

Cardiac CT Made Easy: An Introduction to Cardiovascular Multidetector Computed Tomography

Cardiac CT Made Easy: An Introduction to Cardiovascular Multidetector Computed Tomography
by Paul Schoenhagen (Author), Arthur E. Stillman (Author), Richard D. White (Author)

Based on advances in scanner and software technology, cardiovascular imaging with multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is developing into an important clinical diagnostic tool for cardiac disease.

Combining the in-depth coverage of a text with the diagnostic utility of a manual, this superb guide provides a simple introduction to the principles of MDCT for cardiovascular applications from the perspective of the CT technologist as well as the clinician.
