The problems are pretty repetitive and cookie-cutter. If you know ASCE 7 and how to do flexible diaphragms, book is kind of useless. Also some of the questions are just plain WRONG (there's no such thing as an "earthquake period".) I wouldn't really recommend this book.

This book is not useful at all. There are much better books available for seismic design. Don't waste your time and money with this one.

The fourth edition of this book is out of date. The solutions reference sections in the CBC that no longer exist. Unfortunately, this appears to be the only available study aid for the California State Specific Seismic Principles exam.
