CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 3.5 based on 13 reviews)
| not so great by X. Li (Berkeley, CA) 3 Stars October 27, 2009 The problems are pretty repetitive and cookie-cutter. If you know ASCE 7 and how to do flexible diaphragms, book is kind of useless. Also some of the questions are just plain WRONG (there's no such thing as an "earthquake period".)
I wouldn't really recommend this book.
| | Save your money for something useful! by Engineer (Olympia, WA) 1 Stars October 24, 2009 This book is not useful at all. There are much better books available for seismic design. Don't waste your time and money with this one.
| | Out of Date (again) by Nicholas Rodda (Olympia, WA) 1 Stars September 28, 2008 The fourth edition of this book is out of date. The solutions reference sections in the CBC that no longer exist. Unfortunately, this appears to be the only available study aid for the California State Specific Seismic Principles exam.
| | CALIFORNIA PE Here I Come by Stephen S. Bahr (Bakersfield, CA) 5 Stars September 12, 2007 With this book and a seismic reference book, I have become very familiar with the the seismic portion of the PE exam and feel prepared to take it with confidence.
| | Inadequate by Disappointed Engineer (Arcata, CA) 1 Stars May 12, 2007 Please see my review of the 3-book series in which this book is typically purchased in the reviews of "Seismic Principles Practice Exams."
