What to Do When You Grumble Too Much: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Negativity (What to Do Guides for Kids)
| | Good series of books... by M. Junkins (Texas) 5 Stars May 24, 2009 I enjoyed the 3 books I purchased in this series. It provided a common vocabulary for my son and I and enabled him to realize he is not alone in his worries. PS - I'm a psychologist and professor and recommend this series a lot.
| | Just what I was looking for! by Shannon Olshove (Michigan) 5 Stars April 28, 2009 I was unsure whether this book would be what I was looking for because I didn't have the ability to look inside, but it was perfect! I needed some help with a 6-year-old (my son) and a 12-year-old (client-I am a counselor) who have a "glass half-empty" outlook on life. The 6-year-old actually said, "That sounds like me!" as we were reading it!
| | Great tools to learn by Donna T. Kasinak (Milford, CT.) 5 Stars April 14, 2009 I have an Autistic child that was thrilled to learn that some of his "behaviors" are found in a book. He was excited to know that he is not alone and that there are other people who share his same need to learn new skills. the book has been able to help my son identify and resolve conflict. He has gained new skills be reading this book.
| | Great emotional coaching tool! by Reader Mom (Port Washington, WI USA) 5 Stars March 15, 2009 I bought this book in an effort to help my nine-year-old son become more motivated and think more positively about school. We work on it a chapter or a half-chapter at a time and, though he sometimes complains, I can tell he enjoys the activities and is slowly improving his outlook. Research shows that Emotional Intelligence is a better indicator of future happiness and success than IQ or SAT scores, so I wanted to help him build skills in this area early. This book is a great emotional coaching tool.
