| Anti inflammation Diet by Schuyler M. Richardson (Waterford, VA United States) 4 Stars July 29, 2009 I think this book is a pretty comprehensive overview of the role that diet and inflammation can play with your body. I have found it very helpful. Haven't tried any of the recipes yet but plan to. A good start.
| | Wonderful! Very informative! by E. Pennington (Carmi, IL United States) 5 Stars May 06, 2009 I was just diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and so I purchased this book to help me figure out exactly what I should be eating to keep the internal inflammation down. It helped me tremendously! I had no idea that some foods actually cause inflammation and guess what? I was eating way too many of those...hence a gallon of milk a week. Before reading this book, I had no idea that inflammation causes you to be fat, bloated, and have actual pain. I didn't know that white foods (rice, sugar, pasta, white bread and milk) should be avoided. Or that any kind of "itus" (like arthritus) is an inflammation problem. This text heightened my awareness and has improved my quality of life. Just keep in mind, it really is a lifestyle and not a diet.
| | Helpful information by L. Seibert (Shelby Twp. MI) 5 Stars January 12, 2009 Full of helpful information about how to eat. I have Chron's Disease, and I have inflammation and needed information on how to reduce it because of the side effects (e.g. stricture of the small intestine). Very useful for me.
| | Basic Nutrition ONLY by mom in colorado 2 Stars September 29, 2008 I too was very disappointed... I was looking for detailed research and information about diet and inflammation... What I got was basic nutrition information... Eat more veggies and fruit, whole grains, eliminate junk food, eliminate hydrogenated fats, eat more poly unsaturated fats.... lower salt, increase omega 3s...exercise and reduce stress YEH YEH....
Great book for beginners but if you have long ago given up Mc Donalds, coke and junk food this book is not for you.
| | Trends in Diets by Janet Maran 3 Stars March 19, 2008 This book had adequate information. The suggestions were rather mainstream. I think they could be used by anybody without creating much changes to their eating.
