Developed specifically for this book, the program features: Daily menus of immune-boosting foods Daily tips to create an immune-friendly lifestyle The keys to maximum immunity—including moderate and consistent exercise, 2 servings of fruits and vegetables at every meal, adequate sleep, 15 minutes outdoors without sunscreen, and a few laughs whenever possible Targeted self-care strategies—ranging from nutritional supplements to behavioral changes—that enable anyone to tailor the program to fit individual needs Preventive and treatment measures that help people fight back against specific conditions, from allergies, asthma, and food poisoning Lyme disease, shingles, and pneumonia. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 2 reviews)
| Helpful book by Cate (Portland, OR USA) 4 Stars December 25, 2008 This is a good compiliation of current information on improving immunity - no revelations, but good basic advice and practical suggestions. I ignored the 4 week plan, but gained some helpful knowledge.
The book does have one error. From page 221: "Asian pears are a cross between an apple and a pear." That is not true. Asian pears may look kind of like apples, but they are pears, from the species Pyrus pyrifolia. (Regular pears are Pyrus communis.)
| | Helpful, practical guide to good health by D. Celestino (Westchester, NY) 4 Stars July 01, 2008 This book is fairly simple and common sense in its approach-- basic guidelines about eating right, stress reduction, exercise, etc. In a sense, it doesn't include anything earth-shattering, but it helps to have it all in an easy-to-read, no-nonsense form. I have found the book to be helpful, enjoyable, and somewhat informative as well.
