I like this book by John Rotten (San Diego, CA) 5 Stars
August 01, 2009
I really like this book. I just started fly fishing last year. And have been developing and learning my casting and fly fishing techniques. At the first of this summer I wanted to learn how to cast better, I found some videos online with Lefty Kreh giving tutorials on casting. From there I discovered this book and ordered it. I felt like some of his basic principles and concepts were the turning point for me in learning how to cast much better.

Lefty Kreh's Longer Fly Casting Reviewed by R. Rhyne (McKinney TX) 5 Stars
September 25, 2008
I've been fly fishing for many years but never really received much instruction at all. Needless to say my style is in need of work. What I have manged to pick up over the years combined with the simple fundamental tools in Lefty's book have given me a greater ability to cast cleanly, accurately and pleasantly on a consistent basis. A useful book for both beginner as well as experienced casters who want to improve their skills.

An internationally renowned and acknowledged master of the art and science of fly fishing. by Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) 5 Stars
July 08, 2007
Lefty Kreh is an internationally renowned and acknowledged master of the art and science of fly fishing. Now in a newly revised and expanded edition, "Lefty Kreh's Longer Fly Casting: The Compact, Practical Handbook That Will Add Ten Feet -- Or More -- To Your Casts" is certain to improve the fly casting performance of any angler. This 98-page, profusely illustrated instruction manual analyses the basic forward cast, explains its different parts and dynamics, and then builds on that to fully illustrate the essential fly casting technique for targeting fish at the arm's maximum range known as the 'double haul'. Of special note is the cogent explanation of properly using a shooting head and overcoming many common obstacles to successful fly casting including wind factors, trees, casting from boats, and more. "Lefty Kreh's Longer Fly Casting" should be considered mandatory reading for anyone seeking to improve their fly cast fishing performance. Also very highly recommend are Lefty Kreh's other fly fishing instruction manuals and guides: "Presenting The Fly"; "Fly Fishing in Salt Water"; "Saltwater Fly Patterns"; "Practical Fishing Knots"; "Solving Casting Problems", and "101 Fly-Fishing Tips".

Fly Fishing in Saltwater
by Lefty Kreh (Author)

For the subspecies of saltwater angler who insists on doing his fishing with flies, Kreh is the guru and this is the holy book. Now in its third revised edition, Fly Fishing in Salt Water first surfaced in the late '60s when the idea of fishing the seas with a fly for bluefish, stripers, bonito, and bigger game like tarpon and tuna was not only novel, it was sneered at. Fly-fishing in saltwater is still a relatively new frontier, but time has proven Kreh a visionary and the virtual father of...
