| First smile after my cancer diagnosis:) by M. Grace Almleaf (Western NY) 4 Stars September 11, 2009 This book brought me my first smile after my diagnosis of DLBC lymphoma. I read it while on a trip through Eastern PA, and while I may not subscribe to all her ideas, I couldnt help but see her point of view and enjoy her candid humor. I did find her website to be the best I have ever found for any type of cancer, & I highly recommend it. This is not the book if you believe in passive heathcare practices.
| | Something for the Under 40 Cancer Patients by K. Ulrich 5 Stars July 19, 2009 This book clearly defines the difference between most younger and older cancer patients, particularly in the area of language. Since I'm in the (much) older group, the title turned me off, but I read it on the recommendation of a friend. Once past the language, I found the book loaded with information and wit. While I don't agree with all her recommendations, she thought of many things that never entered my mind when I was diagnosed. She refuses to be a victim, but continues on in her determined, proactive way. Good for her!! We need more written for this unfortunately growing group of women.
| | Awsome! by Life is Great (Jax. Fla.) 5 Stars February 13, 2009 Great book! I bought this book for a very special friend who happens to have cancer. She loved it and it gave her hope.
| | Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor by Virginia A. King (Sherman, NY) 5 Stars January 26, 2009 I saw a short clip of this book on the today program. I am a Certified Holistic Educator and I thought what a wonderful zesty way to present and help people who are on a cancer track. I read it first before passing it along, and I feel anyone could benefit from the wit and wisdom there in.
I love this book.
Regards Virginia King
| | Take the message in this book with a grain of salt by SuzieWrong (New York City) 1 Stars November 22, 2008 I did not like this book, nor do I agree with the author's message. Really? Advice on feeling good from a cancer survivor who has never had an iota of treatment? The author has pissed a lot of people off, including those formerly in her circle, since she became a "cancerlebrity." Take this book and its message with a grain of salt. No pun. I am concerned for the legions of ill people who may be taking this girl's books to heart. Appearing on Oprah and jumping on a trampoline does not an expert make.

| Everything Changes: The Insider's Guide to Cancer in Your 20's and 30's by Kairol Rosenthal (Author)
"By page three of the introduction to Everything Changes, I wanted not only to devour the rest of the book, but I wanted to call Kairol up, get to know her, and (if we weren't both already married) see if I could sleep with her. Then the book got really good. It is, without doubt, the most forthright, emotionally sophisticated, and plain-old valuable book of its kind I've seen. The book defines and exemplifies what the verb 'fight' really means: to arm, prepare, and engage in sustained effort...
