EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description After running her own successful business in Wellness Alternatives, Pamela Hoeppner faced the unthinkable. She was diagnosed with a malignant, fast-growing breast cancer. Pam declined all conventional treatment and chose an alternative approach with an impressive track record instead, which resulted in her full recovery. Convinced that mutilation and toxic treatments are not always necessary she wanted others to know there ARE options that don't involve devastating a person's body and their quality of life. In her inspiring book, The Breast Stays Put, with a delivery all her own, she shares her courageous story of overcoming a deadly diagnosis, and provides prevention and treatment information through her informative website www.TheBreastStaysPut.com. A wonderfully written first-hand account of how one woman overcame her life-threatening diagnosis of cancer using only alternative medicine. A must read for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, but I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about treating cancer with alternative therapies. David Brownstein, MD, Author of Drugs That Don't Work and Natural Therapies That Do All too often people are frightened into a medical or surgical course of action, when what they really need is encouragement to take control of their own health and path to wellness. Pam's story is a testimony to the benefits of doing just that. The Breast Stays Put is a beacon of hope that everyone facing serious illness should read. Bridget Houston, ND NHE Hoeppner has achieved something few writers can. She has turned a serious, scary subject into a fun read while presenting important life-saving information at the same time. I particularly enjoyed her unique brand of humor and her gutsy words of wisdom that can't help but infuse the reader with courage. | mastectomy also not a bad thing? by JavaMate (Belgium) 5 Stars October 23, 2009 'Laura''s title: "Lumpectomy not such a bad thing vs. living in limbo for months!" shows that she didn't read this book carefully. Otherwise she would have understood that Pamela Hoeppner was facing a mastectomy, not 'just' a lumpectomy.
Anyway, my girlfriend was also adviced (read 'scared into') having a mastectomy, but lucky for us we found out about alternative ways of handeling (and looking at) cancer too. Three months after the first mammo and ultrasound (and positive biopsy) a ultrasound showed no more signs of the two tumors in her right breast! That was it, no more 'conventional wisdom for us!
Al we 'used' was GNM, a healthy diet (including megadoses of vitamin C and B17) and prayer.
I agree that it's a personal choice that nobody can (and should) take for you - not even (or least of all, we would say) the doctors out there. They only know what they 'learn' during their study (which is largely steered by Big Pharma).
Best wishes to all people diagnosed with cancer.
| | Lumpectomy not such a bad thing vs. living in limbo for months! by Laura (Mtn. View, CA) 2 Stars May 20, 2009 I give the author credit for following her own path and sharing what she learned with others in as honest a way as she did. However, as a nurse practitioner and cancer patient I want to present a different opinion. I had a breast lump come up (2nd time) so a friend urged me to read this book to talk me out of having the lump removed. Although I appreciated her journey, the book actually put me more at ease at having my lumpectomy. I was home from the procedure before noon. The actual surgery was less than an hour. I healed very nicely. I took 1 pain pill total in all my recovery. All the medical people in my encounter were caring and competent.
Compare this to months of taking Protocel around the clock causing uncomfortable side effects and the UNBELIEVABLE burden of living with the "unknown" of whether the medicine is working and having the lump still be there months and months later! That seems like a more difficult road to me than conventional treatment.
The lump I had removed was cancer. The receptors on this cancer were different from the first one which was very good information to have. This time it is estrogen positive. The treatment recommended for me is to take tamoxifen, one little pill a day. I have no side effects as yet. I think it is wonderful medical research has found a little pill to treat certain types of breast cancer. Yet I'd still consider taking Protocel to clear up any lingering cells.
For me it isn't a me against them mentality. I try to be open to the wonderful advancements that have been made as well as considering methods and treatments from other sources. Whoever and whatever will help I want to be open to but not blindly following someone else's path.
I too get frustrated with the limitations of western medicine but I do not discount the progress they have made in many areas.
We are all very individual and there are many choices to make and it is very overwhelming but ultimately we pick and choose what treatments fit into our beliefs.
| | A MUST READ! by K. Sny (Michigan) 5 Stars October 04, 2008 This book is such an inspiring story to read and so refreshing in this drug laden world that we live in. I have always felt there are so many things out there, how can there not be a cure for cancer when so MUCH money is thrown at curing it? How amazing that a little formula taken on a regular basis can shut down such a horrific thing as cancer. The author does such an amazing job at taking the reader on her journey with an abundance of faith, hope and humor throughout!!
She truly captures the reader and I found it very hard to put this book down. Once you start, you will want to read it to the end. (trust me on this) Very hard to put down. I feel this book is a must read for anyone in this world who hears the word cancer. I know people who have used Protocel with success and I know the results that can come. I am so glad that a book so well written is now out there for all to read...

| | A Must Read for anyone wanting hope. by janice mccartney (Northern Ireland) 5 Stars July 28, 2008 This is a truly wonderful and enlightning book about the alternative treatments of cancer. I am fighting breast cancer my self and although i went down the conventional method of treatment before learning of an alternative treatment i found this book very encouraging as i am fully aware of the amount of times that cancer can return. I have decided to take protocel as a back up and found this book very detailed in Pams walk through the cancer battle using this alternative method od treatment. Pam paints a fantastic picture for her readers in sharing her fears her delights her diagnosis her feelings throughout this experience and the feelings of those around her who loved her and helped her though her cancer story.
Pam thank you for taking the time to write this book so that others may get the hope that you have.
