EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description The zany characters who sniffle, soar and shriek through this book will help kids understand the concept of such emotions as joy, disappointment, boredom and anger. "The Way I Feel" will also show kids how to express their feelings with words. This delightful book is used in homes, classrooms, literacy programs and pediatric clinics across the country. "Finally we have a resource which teaches children how to articulate what they feel," wrote a health educator. The imaginative illustrations and superbly crafted verses are sensitive and free of bias and slang. |

| I feel good about "the way I feel" by Ada Nunez (Aventura , FL USA) 5 Stars November 11, 2009 My five year old son liked it very much, I'm wanting him to aknowledge the way he feels so he can move his way up when things aren't of his liking. I go about it in a way that makes him aware of the positive aspects of any situation, this book helps with his starting point(what's the feeling?).
It is pleasant and the illustrations are funny.
| | Great book! by SB (Tahoe) 5 Stars September 13, 2009 As I read this to my 3yr old son for the first time, I swear I could see the little wheels in his brain clicking together! Although he knew most of the emotions in the book, it very much helped for him to see the corresponding pictures. He kept wanting me to read it again and again. It is now his favorite book!
| | Helping Children Identify Feelings by Christian Alperson (Alexandria, KY) 5 Stars February 14, 2009 I am a sexual abuse counselor for children. I have been using this book to help PreK-2nd graders learn how to lable their feelings. The book gives vivid illustrations with characters who have matching facial expressions. This is very important for youngsters who are trying to learn what feelings words can look like. The book is also just very fun! The children I work with love the pictures and respond very well to the learning experience. Another great feature is the book has leading questions in the end to help facilitate conversation between you and your child/ren. We love this book and most of the facilitators in my agency use it with their young clients.
| | Great for explaining feelings by Dana Lehman (Michigan) 5 Stars February 11, 2009 I used this book when my son was in preschool to help him better understand his feelings.I like the suggestions in the back of the book on things you can discuss with your children. Such as, what makes him or her feel happy, sad, angry, etc. The illustrations are bright and beautiful! I think young children will enjoy The Way I Feel!
| | Excellent for the classroom. Excellent for home by Amber Baker (McKinney, TX) 5 Stars January 31, 2009 I've used this many times as a Speech Language Pathologist in preschool classrooms with typically developing children and with children with disabilities. This is by far the best book I have ever found to address the concept of emotions for young children. Each turn of the page brings 1 colorful and clear illustration of an emotion with a nice rhyming description of the emotion from a kid's point of view. It keeps the childrens' attention and does a great job teaching emotions.
Now that I have a toddler of my own, I'm pleased to report that she adores it as well. She asks us to read it to her every night, and she tries to label the different emotions and comments on parts of the emotion descriptions.
This is the best "feelings" book out there for little ones.

| Feelings to Share from A to Z (My Favorites) by Todd Snow (Author), Peggy Snow (Author), Pamela Espeland (Editor), Carrie Hartman (Editor)
Knowing how to describe our feelings is important to our emotional health. So is knowing it's okay to talk about our feelings with others. Feelings can be confusing when we don't have the words to express them; they can be overwhelming and even scary when we keep them to ourselves. In rhyming poems and engaging illustrations, this book helps children build and use a vocabulary for communicating their emotions. Because it's meant to be read aloud, it encourages discussion.
