| | pumping insulin: everything you need for success on a smart insulin pump by William T. King 5 Stars February 24, 2009 the book is clear, accurate and presented in a pedagogical way that allows reviews and the opportunity to put new knowledge to work.
| | An excellent Source of information by Shuli (Hadera, Israel) 5 Stars February 17, 2009 This is an excellent book for anyone planning to use an insulin pump. It is worth reading BEFORE you get your pump, so you can get used to doing the complicated regimin BEFORE you start and not all at once, once you get the pump. The book is full of information and quite technical, but that is what you need.
| | Outstanding! by Donna Ehler (Barefoot Bay, Floirda) 5 Stars January 13, 2009 Everyone should have this book that has or is THINKING of having an insulin pump. It really will make going on the pump a BIG success. Don't wait to get the pump get the book FIRST and be READY to PUMP.
LOVE IT
| | Excellent reference book by newT1DM (Wisconsin, USA) 4 Stars December 05, 2008 I've heard this book called "the pumper's Bible," and it probably has as universal appeal to pumpers as the Bible once had in the world. Walsh provides a great deal of easily accessible information so that anyone who uses an insulin pump (or even just uses insulin) will get something from it. My only caveat is that the "rules" are like many other "rules" - they have their exceptions. All the recommended numbers/percentages are based on averages. So, for example, if you eat a low-carb diet, the percentage of total daily insulin use made up by one's basal dose is higher than he recommends.
