Nothing new: this is a must for all primary care doctors by Thao M. Truong (Junction, TX) 5 Stars
November 05, 2009
Nothing new: this is a must for all primary care doctors. This has long become THE source of guidelines for antimicrobial treaments, yet small enough to fit in a white coat pocket. It is a little bigger and heavier this year. But, what can we say: there are more necessary information. I'd rather have a bigger book than dealing with smaller characters.

Must have by F. Krueger (Western Pennsylvania) 5 Stars

This little book is a must have for any resident, intern or practicing physician, those in the primary care fields in particular.

Most Useful Pocket Guide!!! by Happy (Bethesda, MD) 5 Stars

I've been using Sanford ever since med school. It's a great quick reference, and I order a new one every year. It takes a minute to get used to if you've never used it, but once you do, you won't go to work without it!

Not too useful by Kimberly Chow 3 Stars

Didn't end up using it as much as I thougth I would, but then again, I'm just starting out in my practice. I think the Tarascon Pharmacopia book is better to have if I had to choose one pocket guide. EVerything else, I use my PDA for.

Sanford ID Guide by Stephanie Cazares (Greenbelt, MD) 5 Stars

Larger format much easier to read, yet still pocket size. Very reliable and up to date. Addresses lyme disease, STD's , MRSA. Gives alternatives for patients with allergies. I've been using this for 20 years and still appreciate its concise, reliable information. Even though the web has emerged, I still like having a print version at my fingertips.
