EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description
The interpretation of melanocytic tumors represents one of the most important topics and probably the most difficult challenge in the field of dermatopathology. This text and atlas depicts as many cases as possible of the most important or challenging melanocytic lesions. It illustrates in detail melanocytic neoplasms of diagnostic interest encountered in daily practice. It presents a philosophy of diagnosis that differs from those found in existing texts. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 1 review)
| Excellent reference to be familiar with by Boston MD 5 Stars July 12, 2007 The field of melanocytic lesions is far from precise, but this book attempts to break down the individual criteria necessary to render a diagnosis on nearly all of the pigmented lesions. The writing is very easy to read along with and many times, it almost feels like you are double-scoping the case with the author. I'm sure there are some points within the text that others would consider controversial, but from a 'broadening my point of view' approach - I have enjoyed this text immensely.

Lever's "Histopathology of the Skin" is a classic work that has been used by generations of dermatopathologists, pathologists, and dermatologists to further their knowledge, in their current practices, and in the training of their own students. The pathophysiologic organization used in the book is based on Walter Lever's original scheme, with appropriate modifications over the years, and is more efficient than the pattern method, since related entities are discussed in juxtaposition, instead of...
