Key to this performance is Sony's anti-oxidation coated ultra-fine MP+++ (Metal Particle) magnetic material employed in DDS4 tapes.To ensure reliability under the stress of repetitive read/write operations, Sony uses a highly durable HCL (High Cross Linkage) binder with special additives. In addition, Sony's RDP mechanism also sandwiches the tape between textured sheets to help maintain smooth tape winding, while a high-strength lid guards against accidental breakage.
