| Tailgate must!! by EAC20 (Mobile, Alabama) 5 Stars October 01, 2009 Outstanding product extremely easy to set up. Just open the box point to correct setting (which is also very easy) and you are watching TV. NO TOOLS required. I highly recommend. Best tailgating item in my arsenal.
| | Inaccurate Product Description by S. Sales (Woodbine, GA) 2 Stars August 13, 2009 Any single LNB dish cannot receive both local and national channels (two satellite signals) simultaneously; thus, requiring dish realignment when switching between (local and national) feeds. As a Dish network suscriber, I can only use the 300 Series satellites with this dish. The Dish Network 500 and above Series satellites have skew positions and require dual LNB's, but receive both local and national broadcasts as one LNB is local and the other is national. Purportedly, Direct TV has an addendum package where local channels and national channels combine into one feed, according to a Winegard mobile representative; thus, the advertisement on Amazon is accurate once qualified by lisitng all exceptions and nuances. Out of six attempts to speak to a Winegard representative only one attempt succeded. I resorted to email correspondence with that company. If you do not mind physically changing the dish position every time you want to watch the local news channels on ABC, NBC, and CBS, and then switching the dish back to National programs then enjoy realignment efforts. If you desire cable type TV selectivity, then get a Dish Network or DirectTV Network satellite dish. I am uncertain as to why Winegard does not simply add the second LNB feed and a rotating skew bracket on the back mounting and resolve this problem.
| | Satellite Dish from Heaven by DonBalone (Cedar Rapids, IA USA) 5 Stars August 08, 2009 I purchased this dish for my camper. I am able to use my home Directv DVR system with this dish. It takes a few minutes to set up. Works great. Small, compact and easy to use. I don't make any changes to my directv receiver. It works with the settings I have from home. Just use a meter (Link below is for the meter I purchased) to find the satellite and everything works great. Quick and painless. You will love it.

| | Winegard RD-9046 Portable satellite dish by G. Griffin 2 Stars July 21, 2009 We have been camping in our fifth wheel lately in parks/areas without local or cable tv. Not wanting to spend $700 to $800 for a Vuqube I thought the RD-9046 would be a good place to start and see how much we might use it. I initially set it up at my home and after about three attempts I got it to work. I had no luck on site at a remote campsite and gave up after several attempts. The documentation accompanying the dish is not very helpful in actually getting a signal, nor was DirectTV, my satellite provider, helpful in explaining what was required. I am still not sure which satellite is the one I am looking for. The Vuqube with an alleged auto search feature is looking more attractive. Unless the providers, Winegard and DirectTV, are more helpful, or you understand how all this works I would go for the more expensive products.
| | Good Dish by D. W. Woods (Texas, U. S. of A.) 4 Stars January 31, 2008 I bought this satellite dish for my fifth wheel trailer, after learning how to set it up, I have had no problems with it. Does not get quite the signal strength that I do from my home dish, but always have a good clean picture. The one thing to remember when sitting it up, is to sure that there is nothing in the way of lining it up with the satellite. I do have trouble with leveling it up, but once I get it level it is easy to tune in the satellite. The compass on the base is not very good, lots better to go buy a really good compass. You need to get the satellite finder also, to make your life easier. I would buy it again.
