One for work, one for home. by 011001110110000101100011 4 Stars

I just bought a second PC111. Since I'm deaf in one ear, I need mono. Sound quality on my end, IMO, is very good. I've only received one complaint from a remote party about sound quality, but I was calling from a room with pronounced echo. Price is very good. PC111 works with 2.5-mm jack on my cell phone (w/o volume control) and 3.5-mm jack on my PC (w/ volume control). I can comfortably wear the PC111 for several hours. I am concerned that foam cover on earpiece will be difficult to replace, but have not had a problem after two years of use. I'm hopeful that replacements will be available -- years ago Sennheiser promptly sent me replacement foam covers (at no charge) for a different model headphone. PC111 is over-packaged with lots of wasted material. Yes, these are over-the-ear not over-the-head.

Must have a German ear! by L. FIffas (Pittsburgh, PA) 2 Stars

While the item is sleek looking and the components (such as the in-line volume control) look sturdily built; I found the fit completely wrong in 3 departments: 1) the earclip is hard plastic, non-adjustable, and unless you have tiny ears, it seems to hit you right in the middle of the back of your ear wrong; given this is a very sensitive spot on most humans...not at all comfortable; maybe even painful; 2)The audio jacks did not fit in either the rear sound card mic and headset jacks or in the front panel; its worth noting that this is a headset with STEREO connectors, and they were probably mono jacks, and maybe don't fit in as far into the jacks to work...However they were also extremely tight to insert or remove even partially; so much so that it felt as if it would damage the audio jacks. I have a premium motherboard, so I highly doubt that its because the jacks were cheap. Also keep in mind that without a USB adapter (most of which I've seen online were mono jacks as well), these will compete with your speakers for audio output settings, so unplugging speakers (and vice versa to enable speakers) could be necessary to get sound settings right. 3) the boom is short, about half way between a little bluetooth headset and a regular headset boom; probably adequate for skype and people with small heads (mine is x-large) I didn't get to test the sound for fear of damaging my audio jacks (which other headsets worked fine in), and Sennheiser probably does have good internal components for sound quality, however, for me, this headset had alot to desire with respect to ergonomics. I immagine the fit would be hit or miss, so you would either love them or dislike them, as i did.

Convenient head set, great price by I. S. Farmer (USA) 5 Stars

This is the second Senheiser Pc111 I have had, great litte device, which I find much more comfortable and practical that those other ones that stick in your ear or are more like a traditional headset. I also like it becase it is compact and I need to be very mobile - often making skype calls on my laptop from coffee shops, airports etc - its also discreet! I would like to see the foam ear pieces cover a little more durablke but they do give you a spare. Never had anyone complain about quality of mic, and hearing quality is excellent - I even run on-line seminars using it. Great value, highly recommended.

Over-the-ear, not head. by M. Piechota (Philly, PA) 3 Stars

The picture is right, the description is not. These headphones clip onto an ear, which makes them over-the-ear, not over-the-head. Sound is fine, microphone works well. The ear clip gets a little uncofortable after wearing for awhile, which is why I wanted over-the-head. :)

Nice thing by Shorpy Higginbotham (Detroit, MI) 3 Stars

The reviewer who got one in an airport is not reviewing this product. This comes with 2 earclips, a right and left. Pull out and change... I am giving these only 3 stars because they do make my ear warm and took a while to get comfortable with on the ear. I am exchanging them for the 121 which is an in-ear design and which I should have just bought in the first place. As far as what you're getting it for: audio quality in and out, it is superb, and I'm quite sure the 121 will be the same. If there wasn't a 121 I would keep these. I am dismayed at the lack of available choices for a monaural pc headset. Another great feature of both models is that they can be used with any cellphone or device with a 2.5mm plug as well, because the first part of the cord (from the headset) ends with a 2.5mm that plugs into the cord with the dual 3.5s that go to your PC.....or with an adaptor to convert the 2.5 to a single 3.5 (very hard to find) it/they can be used with any device that has a 3.5mm plug like the iphone or touch 2g....so they are very versatile....supposed to get the 121 tomorrow and I'll probably do a review....I expect it to be 5 stars.... Was that confusing enough?
