The first light did not work. The company was very good and sent new one immeadiately. It is a blue/white light which I don't like. It also is impossible to clip it to the Kindle and have it stay on. The base is not heavy enough to allow the light to stand with the arm extended at all.

You need this if you read in a low light or no light situation, but, you need the leather kindle cover because this does not easily attach to the kindle. You can attach it, but it will not be in an optimal position. I received this before my leather cover arrived and thought it was of limited use. Now, I use it constantly as it enhances the reading experience of the kindle.

This little clip-on provides good reading light. The arm is very flexible as other users have commented. It stays pretty stable on the Kindle, although since I use the leather Kindle cover, it is a little awkward to clip the light on because the cover makes it much thicker than the Kindle itself. But once you get used to it, it is no big deal. The only thing about the light is that you will need to tilt the Kindle to some degrees otherwise the reflection of the light on the Kindle screen makes it hard to read. I have been reading everyday for about 3 weeks and battery has shown no sign of weakness. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase.

This lamp is great for reading from the Kindle DX in bed or in other places with dim light. Without backlighting, the Kindle screen does need a good external light source, and this tiny tool provides it. I rated it 4-star (vs.5)only because it is a sometimes difficult to remember where I left the thing when I'm getting ready to settle down with my Kindle. It's not suitable to carry around at all times with the Kindle.
