I purchased this laser after purchasing a more expensive laser expecting it to be better. It wasn't! This laser is very good quality and at a very good price. It will burn through thin black plastic such as trash bags. It will also pop dark colored balloons. I have not tried lighting a match with it yet. The laser seems to be well made, the only noticeable imperfection to it is that you can hear the batteries moving around a bit inside if you shake it. Other than that, this is highly recommended but remember it is not a toy and should be used safely.

It's very bright and works perfectly. Im on my 3rd set of batteries and it will make a cigarette smoke! lol Gets hot and beam is very visible from way off. I'll order again from this company.

If you're looking at lasers and found this, chances are you're better off going to Wicked Lasers. This is nothing more than a green pointer... doesn't do anything more.

I'm on a Search and Rescue Team and needed something to point the precise direction for other team members to follow so we could cover an exact course. This works perfectly for me as it's bright enough for use in the daytime and like a powerfull beacon at night. I read the negative comments and while I don't know if the power is as advertised, it's certainly sufficient for my use. The red lasers are ok for night but not strong enough for daytime use. It must be used with great care though due to the possibility of eye damage.

I own two 5mW green lasers that cost in the range of $70-80. This "100mW" laser appears to have about 1/3 the beam of my lasers. Still, it is not a bad price, but also not a 100mW laser. Don't know what some of the other posters have received but they are clearly different than mine.
