Huge; Cumbersome interface by John Schuyler (Denver) 2 Stars
October 25, 2009
What I was hoping for was an interface cable that would let each PC see the other as a USB flash drive. Plug-and-Play. This isn't it. Dislikes: 1. Unfortunately, an application must be run on each PC to open a split-screen interface. At least the program resides in the cable electronics. It is plug-and-play, but one needs to open the folder on each PC and execute the program. 2. The electronics hub is HUGE and the ribbon cables are stiff and awkward to connect. Targus has a competing device that is about 1/10 the size with flexible round cables. 3. The interface isn't Windows Explorer. Sorting by file date isn't chronological: It's displaying dates in mm/dd/yyyy form, and the month (1st digit) is the first sort key. [The Targus device is similar in this regard.] I want to identify the most-recently modified files and transfer those, and with the Tornado I have to go searching. Overwriting a file doesn't compare the dates and give the user a choice whether to overwrite a newer file with an older one. ---I may use occasionally, but it appears as easy to to continue transfer/synchronizing files by exchanging a flash drive---

XP to/from Vista? EASY! by V. Kanar (Washington State, USA) 5 Stars

I simply plug one end into one PC, the other end into the other PC, and then because my PCs have autorun turned off, each PC will shows a popup "What do you want to do?" window and I choose the "Run __.exe" (I forget the file name but there are only 2 choices presented and only 1 is a .exe file). Then it's just drag and drop from one PC to another.

Will not sort by date by G. Cuevas (Mississippi) 4 Stars
June 17, 2009
I bought this to transfer files from my desktop to my laptop. I have folders with numerous files in them. I like to sort by date and copy files (for instance, files created/edited in the last month) to my laptop. The software shows that you can sort by date, but it does not work correctly. I cannot do a quick transfer of all files I have added to the desktop in the last month. I talked to the Tornado people and they said the chipset will not allow for date sorting. Maybe if they create a new version in the future they will include that capability. If you want to transfer by file name, it is great.

As good as it gets. by Robert A. Meena (Fairfield, Connecticut) 5 Stars

The Tornado was exactly as described and viewed in their video. If you can plug in two USB cables as well as click and drag a mouse, you are there.

I have never seen anything like this before, it is FANTASTIC!!! I had an old computer that I couldn't access because I had no monitor. I turned it one, plugged in the tornado, and I was able to pull all my files onto my new computer without any issues.
