CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 4 reviews)
| Pretty nice laser mouse! by Wanderer (Who cares where I live?) 4 Stars October 03, 2009 I'm always on the look out for nice red mouse and, while this mouse is kind of a mix between red and black, I still wanted to give it a try.
I'm upgrading from an optimal mouse, a nice looking but sadly lower quality offering that I also found on Amazon. That said, moving to a laser mouse is definitely a step in the right direction. The accuracy gain is very, very tangible and I absolutely love it. Takes a little getting used to, but it's a nice upgrade either way.
The DPI button to speed up the mouse tracking is also nice. I can see how it would help gaming applications, but I don't really game with it so that feature has no meaning for me. In fact, as far as gaming mice go, you definitely should stay away from this if you're looking for extra buttons because it has none. I, on the other hand, never wanted extra buttons for this application (my day to day stuff) so I was glad to find this mouse. I get the good looks, the laser accuracy and none of the extra stuff that I don't need. The price is also pretty good.
Definitely check this mouse out if, like me, you're in the market for a red-ish laser mouse for day to day stuff. For gaming, however, I'd avoid it. Also, I saw another reviewer comment on the weight. They are correct, this mouse is pretty light. I don't actually care about the weight for my purpose, so it's not a deal breaker for me. If it is for you, I'd suggesting looking for something else.
| | Pleased with IHome by David E. Hall (MS, USA) 5 Stars August 06, 2009 Ihome Mice - Wired Red Fast Track Laser Mouse
I have used a Logitech mouse for the past 6 years until it literally fell apart. I purchased the IHome fast track laser mouse because it was pretty. I didn't expect great service from it because of it's low price but I was pleasantly surprised. Although there are not a lot of optionss, it fits comfortably in my hand and tracks very accurately. I will have to wait to see how well it stands up to my constant use. So far, I love it.

| | Has 1 awsome feature for you intense gamers, and its cheap... by shalLOwgroUnD (Nor Cal) 4 Stars June 26, 2009 The moment I opened the box and installed it , was not expecting such an accurate. Are those the words I am looking for. No.
I should say : "An Awesomely Accurate Pointing Device".
The Design: It has a sleek , colorful, and comfortable feel to it. However, one drawback. If you're left-handed. You're screwed. The good thing is: it has no ball or an annoying red light that goes off and on while moving it.
The cord: Unfortunately it isn't a cordless mouse. This cord, however, is not particularly a long one, however, it is still sufficient for those of you who like to stay close to your desk (Like the old saying goes, its not how big it is, its how efficient it is?) Huh? Something like that.
Bonus for you intense-action-oriented gamers: The mouse has a small accelerator button just between the two large buttons. This was not the reason I purchased it, but is most likely the reason I am 'happy' I purchased this. It has come in handy a lot, and I mean in those intense moments when you need to 'slow down' or "Look Around" and scan your horizon. Just clicking the 'dpi' button ,could save your arse in those intense moments , specially with war games, 1st person, and 3rd person action shooter-type games. This mouse is for you then.
Overall: This is most definitely a great bargain considering it was less than [...]. The colors to choose from are limited, but then again just mask it off and get a spray can out. Ha. Ha.
| | A decent, inexpensive laser mouse by K. Anderson (Long Island, NY United States) 4 Stars May 04, 2009 This is a decent laser mouse for a good price. I give it 3.5 stars not 4 but I rounded up. I was a little wary at first because I had never heard of iHome before. Also there was not one customer review for any of their mice when I bought it, but I'd figured I'd give it a shot. It fit all criteria I was looking for:
- laser
- ergonomic shape and not too small
- wired
- no extra buttons all over the place that I never use
- good price
This mouse is dark metallic red and black and the scroll wheel is lit with a red light. I must say it looks pretty sharp. The scroll wheel feels great thankfully: quiet, easy to scroll and easy to click. It does not side click. At first I almost bought the Logitech MX-400 but people were complaining that the scroll wheel was way too hard to click. There are none of those side-buttons on this mouse which I'm glad because I never use them. There is a small button called DPI above the scroll wheel that speeds up the pointer. I'm never going to use it. The ergonomic shape is decent, not perfect. It won't fit as good with people with bigger hands, but there are very few affordable mice who fit the bigger hands crowd. If you have big hands it's possible you won't be overly thrilled with this mouse. It does have decent size to it though don't get me wrong, unlike all those tiny mice on the market today. Average sized hands people should be fine.
It doesn't come with any software, but I haven't bought a wired mouse in years, maybe they don't come with software I don't remember. I used Windows mouse settings to make adjustments to sensitivity and things like that. The pointer moves across the page accurately, better than optical.
I was expecting it to be cheap looking because of the price but the build quality is good and looks good, however here is my one complaint and why it gets 3.5 stars not 4: this mouse is as light as a feather. It's almost like it's not there. The lightness makes it feel kind of cheap. I'm going to have to get used to it because my previous mouse was a big and heavy wireless Kensington. If you're used to a heavy mouse with batteries be prepared for something very light, it might bother you, but maybe you'll actually like that it's light. Personally it does bother me a little bit, but I'm getting used to it and maybe it's better this way because it's less stress on the wrist. Overall though it's a decent, basic, laser mouse, without all the bells and whistles, and worth the price.
