| Excellent Modem - Have not powered it off since 1st day by H. Al-Harethi (VA, USA) 5 Stars November 23, 2009 I have been using this modem for almost 2 weeks and I can really say that it is AWESOME. Connecting it to my comcast service was easy. Just call their IT support and they will hook it up to their system. They basically need the MAC address.
I really gained some Mbps on this modem. I used to get 17Mbps and now I get up to 25Mbps on speakeasy or speedtest. Of course it all depends on the time of day you do the test but overall, it is worth every penny. It will pay for itself shortly... Luckily my neighborhood backbone is already DOCSIS 3.0 but still a MONOPOLY. I would like to test this router on FIOS...
| | Really Like This Modem! by V. Clark (Albuquerque, NM) 5 Stars November 20, 2009 I do like this modem! Purchased this to replace an older motorola modem I have been using for a couple of years. My connection kept getting dropped quite frequently. As soon as I hooked this up, I haven't been disconnected yet. Plus, it has the DOCSIS 3.0, which is also a nice feature as the cable company is starting to utilize that feature in their service. I already have noticed a slight difference of improvement in my connection speed now! Before the DOCSIS conversion.
| | Haven't touched it since setup by Francisco De La Cruz (Chicago, IL USA) 5 Stars November 18, 2009 This is by far the best modem I have ever purchased. I have Comcast and we all know how much they can screw up. When I tested my speed on [...] before, it would give me 5 mbps or so. With this modem, I get over 15 mbps. It was a great purchase. I have it hooked up to my Ooma box and my Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. Setup was easier than I thought and I have not touched the modem since the first day i set it.
| | Phenom Modem... by Nehasy (Columbia, MD.) 5 Stars November 16, 2009 As I don't currently have any other choice than that of Comcast to supply my internet service; their telephone technical support waxed greatly inept when it came to knowing exactly what data was needed (MAC ID, Customer S/N) and what to do with it once I gave it to them, in order to enable this product to work.
None the less...Once this labyrinth was successfully crossed in only three weeks time and endless hours on the phone, this Motorola was rolling flawlessly. Operating at stealth speeds, without interruption or glitch. The Motorola SB6120 is simply PHENOMINAL!
| | Next gen cable modem by Alex (Chicago, IL) 5 Stars November 13, 2009 I bought this Cable bridge since the one I bought from my cable company was getting outdated and started to create problems. I also bought to prepare for the next gen of cable speeds being deployed nationwide(next spring for me). The only caution and it isn't device related...be careful with your cable company as technicians are known for taking your device thinking it belongs to them since it may not be in their file or they may even replace it with an inferior product on a service call. When I called in to get my device registered I was accussed by my cable company(Starts with a C and ends with T) that it wasn't mine. Tons of harrassing questions, but eventually they were convinced it was mine.
Goodluck.
