| SOLID BASIC BLU RAY PLAYER...GREAT PICTURE by S. Cain (USA) 5 Stars November 28, 2009 Bought this bd60 a few weeks back FOR 149.00. Dont know were these stories are coming from, that this player freezes? Must be the sony Kids. I bought the samsung BD-P1600 first. It is a piece of trash. That player has major issues. skips, locked up in the middle of fifth element{that did it}. Had read some bad reviews on it but had already bought it. Thought I'd give it a go.
Best buy was nice enough to take it back.
This BD-60 has never missed a beat. I put it through the test too. About 4 flicks a day for 3 weeks. Has not missed a second of any movie. Its a better picture than the samsung too. funny thing is I'm watching on a samsung tv. Wonderful tv.
I'd buy this player again in a minute. My reviews show this player sold for 300.00 in april 09. just 7 mo. ago.
I didnt want to wait till the prices of these blu-rays came down to 60-80.00 because I know how they will build them then. Your not about to get the higher quality for nothing. I'm 50 yrs. old i've been arround before vcr's were thought of. They used to last 15 yrs. easy.. now the combo players, if you read reviews on them, they cant get past warranty period. Its already starting on regular dvd players. Building them to only last a couple yrs. so you'll buy the new technology sooner.
I know theres players out there with more options. The extra tricks they do usually is what makes electronic boards go bad. everthings tied together. one things not working something else is wrong too. I say keep the extra parts and give me a great basic player I can watch my movie on and I'll be happy. Well I am happy! This player plays every movie I put in it.
WHAT A BEUTIFUL PICTURE!
| | great product by Brian P. Szabo (Ohio) 5 Stars November 26, 2009 I bought a panasonic veira tv and had good luck with it (see my review for the tv) so decided to try this blu ray player out. I have to say it is great. Picture is excellent, sound is great and my wife and I tried the amazon on demand which worked well. I would recommend this blu ray player to anyone. Also, dont waste money on fancy hdmi cables. get the one from eforce city. it is .12 cents with 3 dollars for shipping but you will love the cable.
overall great product and very please with panasonic.
| | did not work. by Ryan L. 1 Stars November 25, 2009 I purchased through a Dell Home sale. I hooked it up to a Panasonic HDTV that was manufactured in November 2008 using the HDMI connection. It did not even display a menu. I tried two different high end HDMI cables that worked with other players on the same TV. Neither worked with this player. So, this player, designed in late 08, early 09, did not work with a TV that came off the assembly line of the same company at the same time. Either it's horrible design, or I got a bad player. Return was easy, I then ordered an LG from Amazon.
| | Great Product by Frederick W. Ebbrecht (Edison, New Jersey USA) 5 Stars November 24, 2009 Excellent Blu Ray. Video and audio are excellent. The load time is not too bad.
| | OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Jerry G. Boyd Jr. (Iowa) 5 Stars November 23, 2009 I purchased a 46inch Panasonic 1080P plasma tv and this Blu-Ray to go with it. It is stunning, pure viual and sound enjoyment. The tv was about $1,000 and the Blu Ray was like $140 (delivered) and you simply can't beat it. Addmittedly I do run a nice Denon reciever with Paradigm speakers for sound but as far as the visual quaility this set up ROCKS!!! If you are 2nd guessing, STOP RIGHT NOW AND BUY!!!!!!!!
