| No More Overheated Legs by Brad Barbera 5 Stars September 10, 2009 I love this riser! It is thin and lightweight enough to slide into my laptop bag without adding any bulk. I wish there were better pictures of it, because the three on this page don't do it justice. When closed, it is ultra thin...thinner than a pencil. It flips open and the bands pop out, allowing me to put my laptop on my lap without overheating my legs. The laptop itself stays nice and cool with the vents on the surface of the GoRiser. It puts the computer at a more comfortable angle, too. I had no problem with my machine sliding off, as the rubberized pads held it in place nicely. I use it on the train during a commute, on planes, and at home, where I'd rather type while sitting in a comfy chair instead of at a desk. I have even used it on my desk, though, to get the laptop screen at a more comfortable height. This thing rocks!
| | Laptop slips right off by Eran Magen 2 Stars August 21, 2009 I purchased, tried, and returned this item. I own an aluminum Macbook (13"), which fits easily on the GoRiser and felt cushy enough on my lap. Unfortunately, my laptop immediately began to slide down the GoRiser, despite the manufacturer's attempt to include high-friction rubber pads.
This may work with other laptops that have a less smooth bottom.
