Exotic Animal Petting Zoo, despite the curious and unusual band name, create music that appeals to a broad audience. There is something for everyone in this album.
"Arendering" speaks volumes and has personal meaning to me, and songs like "Hair Dresser" and "Ira Lore" stir up angst and energy. Scot Certa's bass playing in "Every Waking Moment" makes anyone's head bob up and down, while Brandon Carr's lyrics in "Ira Lore" make your hands become raised fists. Stephen Carr is the best drum player I've seen and heard; there's no contest. "Richard Dean" is proof. "Anniversary Psalm" and "A Balloon..." are also favorites to listen to while driving or relaxing.
Sick from all the cookie-cutter metal and rock bands?
"I Have Made My Bed in Darkness" is the cure. Buy it.

Exotic Animal Petting Zoo is a wildly talented band that must be discovered by all. They have incredible musical and artistic ability and a true passion for music and the listener. A band that will not have the opportunity to shine without exposure and support... - this must not be another death of a band trying to do something different than the mainstream. I encourage you to buy this record and do what you can to get these guys out there to the rest of the world.
