A Great, Completely Self-Aware 80's Song by Gregory Alongi  4 Stars

It's great to see that Julian Casablancas didn't release a solo album that sounded exactly like The Strokes, and if you were expecting The Strokes, look elsewhere. If this song is indicative of the rest of Phrazes For The Young, we can expect a great 80's pop album that's around 25 years delayed.
This seems to be a trend lately, the 80's are making a comeback somehow, but this is the only music I've heard so far that seems to be completely aware of that fact. It's not trying to hide it, it embraces it, and the result is some great, catchy music.
I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album, because this is truly unique and enjoyable.
