Picture quality: Gorgeous (all blu-rays should look this good). Fog, mist and water look fantastic. Check out the special features to get an idea how they filmed it. This short subject documentary is done well. Part of the topic reminded me of Medicine Man (1992) [...]

The documentary is really quite astonishing in its picture quality and imagery. While relatively short, like other Imax films, it provides a general overview of different areas of the Amazon region.

This is a tight look at the life of a Peruvian man as he journeys to the Amazon in search of medicines not available to his people. The story strays here and there to look at wildlife and other facets of the Amazon region. I liked this enough to buy it and the picture quality is right on the money for high definition as is the audio quality. I'd like to see a documentary strictly on the wildlife and plants with the same PQ and AQIt's a short film but you don't feel cheated.

I live in the netherlands and had it sent overseas. It came here in about two weeks. It's too bad that it's region coded so that way i didnt get to see it on my tv. I played it on my laptop tho and i must say that the quality of the picture and sound are amaaazing to look at. it's super sharp. the docu shows how intensly beautiful the amazon rainforest is. if you're into this subject, i truly recommend this dvd. running the 'start.bat' file on the dvd didnt work so well since it stopped working multiple times, but playing it in Windows Media Player doesnt give any problems at all. great docu

I got this for my kids and will show it to my Geography class as well. It has very good information and has quality production and narration.
