CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 3.0 based on 1 review)
| Short sharp blast - 3.5 stars by Paul Lawrence (Australia) 3 Stars November 17, 2007 Three and a half stars for this short blast of Germanic melodic power metal as the band roar through a pile of their own rockers plus a clutch of Helloween staples. Apparently one of the last appearances by the band with Ralf Scheepers on vox the band turn in a solid performance with plenty of tight musicianship and interplay. So whatever the interpersonal tensions in the band at the time it doesn't show on this live offering.
Long time fans will probably get all the information they need from the tracklisting so I'll just add a few points that might sway them a touch. Firstly, the stage production is more lush than the earlier Heading for the East DVD with a better light show etc. The DVD has a couple of special features, basically the main one of interest is the introduction of each track by Malcome Dome - it should be noted that this commentary can be turned off if you wish.
Interspersed between the songs are some footage of the band mucking about backstage and on the set of a video shoot. It pretty much depends on your own viewpoint on this sort of stuff, usually I find watching backstage stuff about as much fun as a trip to the dentist but if this sort of thing is your bag then you might get more out of it than me.
At only 55 minutes this DVD won't go down in history as the most value packed package on the market but if you want to see a good band going at their tunes in front of a home crowd then it's good value if you can get it cheap.
