Frustrated because baby doesn't sleep at night? With the help of Dr. Stuart Tomares, a pediatric sleep specialist, you can have your baby sleeping well in about a week. In this 24-minute video, Dr. Tomares outlines three major causes of sleep disturbances in infants: lack of a sleep ritual, poor sleep associations, and inconsistent parental response. After defining each of these three areas, Dr. Tomares offers several examples of good sleep rituals and sleep associations, and defines appropriate parental response. Video clips of parents with their children provide helpful visual examples. Dr. Tomares outlines five specific stages of achieving good sleep: creating good sleep associations, a bedtime routine, a transition period, crying, and "the plan." Much emphasis is given to these stages being learned processes, to the concept of incremental comforting, and to the distressing yet necessary stage of letting your child cry. Most impressive is Dr. Tomares's suggested day-by-day, minute-by-minute timetables for comforting a baby who cries at bedtime. Especially reassuring is the "sleep talk" segment in which Dr. Tomares hosts a question-and-answer session with concerned parents and answers many frequently asked questions. This is a wonderfully detailed plan for getting your baby to sleep well. With a 95 percent success rate, this tape is sure to help junior slip into dreamland so you can get some rest, too. --Tami Horiuchi

a $20 miracle by Ian K. Gottesman (Alexandria, VA) 5 Stars

We bought this video when our son was 5 months old and only sleeping a few hours at a stretch during the night. His constant crying in the night kept us all up and made my wife & I very cranky. After reading and following many other suggestions for sleeping (co-sleeping, ferber, etc) we were at our wits end because none of them had worked. Amazon suggested this to us and we bought it. Following the methods in this DVD was hard especially the first few nights, but the clear instructions and methodology worked. By the second week our son was sleeping through the night. His usually sleeps 12 straight hours at night now. This video really helped keep our sanity and make our son a much happier boy.

This dvd was fantastic. I was exhausted by the time my Dr. told me about it...so I was half asleep when I watched it, and yet...I easily retained the information. In a short but sweet approach, Your Baby Can Sleep introduces/reminds you about the basic sleep-needs your little one needs the first couple months of life. It helped A LOT. I was able to get 1-3 hours of extra sleep at night within a week of applying this practice.

It works!  by V. Attinger (CA, USA) 5 Stars

It's been 2 weeks and our 13 month-old sleeps all through the night from 9pm to 6am. Amazing!! He used to wake up every 30mn to nurse. This method works really well, you just need to be strong because the 1st night is tough: your baby cries and you will have a hard time to resist the temptation to go pick him up. After 4 nights, you will already see the results.

Video goes against every parental instict! by John S. Herbert (San Jose CA) 1 Stars

The other reviewer on here got it exactly right, This video just tells you to let your baby cry it out and then they will sleep. My wife an I thought this video would be informative but the statements the "expert" makes in the video go against every instict that a parent has to pick up their baby when they cry. Don't waste your money. Parents are the real experts of their babies. Trust your insticts and your baby's cries.

FINALLY...our baby is sleeping!!! by Shefali Gandhi-List (San Mateo, CA, USA) 5 Stars

Our pediatrician recommended this video to us and thank God! At 7 months, our baby girl refused to go to bed and would wake up frequently. We did all sorts of things -- feed her milk, rock with her, read her books, use a pacifier -- for hours until she finally went to bed at 1am or even later. And then she would wake up in the middle of the night multiple times and we would run in and stick a pacifier in her mouth. Needless to say, we were becoming crazy from lack of sleep. Finally, we did this video -- exactly as instructed -- and even though it was slow in the beginning, our baby has finally caught on -- we do her 20 minute bedtime routine and put her in the crib awake and she falls asleep by herself, without any props or tricks, within 5 minutes. And she sleeps the whole night through without waking us up. We highly recommend doing this video -- even though it can be painful in the beginning, it has made both baby AND her parents MUCH happier.
