EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Amidst the stunning wilderness of Yellowstone National Park, steam and hot water bubble and hiss from thousands of colorful, mineral-encrusted springs and vents. These hot springs, geysers and bubbling mud pools are all outward manifestations of a huge body of magma residing not far beneath the surface. It's a subterranean sea of molten lava that scientists are sure will burst through the Earth's crust it's just a question of when. And if the resulting super-volcanic eruption is anything like the last one on earth which plunged the world into darkness for six years, tipped us into the last Ice Age and reduced the human population to just 2,000 people we're in for one explosive ride.
Based on the predictions of top volcano experts and the detailed planning and evacuation strategies of government agencies, this sobering, factual drama shapes possible events into a compelling human experience. Watch as state-of-the-art computer graphics integrated with mock-factual sources reveal the horrifyingly realistic build-up to the Yellowstone eruption and the climax itself. Learn what effects the eruption may have across the globe environmentally, politically, economically and socially as the massive ash cloud drifts into the upper atmosphere. And glimpse the fragmented world that such a cataclysmic geological event would surely leave behind. |

| Great Movie by A. Arsenian (Rhode Island) 5 Stars October 13, 2009 I saw this movie and it was actually very fun and entertaining. I can't speak to the science but from a "do I like this?" perspective it was enjoyable to watch and not a waste of time.
| | A lot of hype by L. Wheeler (Arizona) 2 Stars September 12, 2009 Somewhere I had read how great this movie was. I was pretty dissapointed! Definately not a high budget film, or even close! I would pay about 5 bucks for the movie, but nothing more!
| | Everyone should see this movie. It is THAT important! by Lynden C. Rodriguez (San Bernardino, CA USA) 5 Stars September 11, 2009 Everyone should see this movie. It shows what in all certainty will one day happen in the United States. It's only a matter of time.
| | Yellowstone supervolcano by Mr. Daniel R. Hays 4 Stars August 12, 2009 Very good dvd, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all the contents. Its amusing how this was one of the only ways i could get a hold of this product. I tried several different methods none of which worked. Amazon was the most trustworthy source.
| | Great Movie by JerseyGirl (bloomsburg pa) 5 Stars June 08, 2009 Despite the bad review this movie had gotten when it was first shown I loved it and the way it was done. I had hoped it would have been shown more often than it had, so I bought it. I would also like to thank The Discovery Channel for making it and the actors/actresses who worked on the movie.
