Great alternative to regular yoga! by nursemsp (Lafayette, TN) 5 Stars

I am a nurse practitioner and I also have MS. I have tried to do regular yoga videos, but they are too difficult for me. I have very poor balance and body aches which prevents me from doing many of the poses in the typical yoga videos. Dahn yoga for MS is wonderful, not only for people with illnesses or disabilities, but for anyone! It's easy to follow and gives alternative ways to do the poses if one is too difficult. You can do this video if you are unable to walk or in a wheelchair. The stretches and relaxation techniques were wonderful. And because I was able to keep up during the video and actually do the poses, I completed the video feeling relaxed and confident rather than defeated as I have when trying to do other yoga videos. As a healthcare professional and someone who has MS, I would highly recommend this video to anyone, but especially those with physical limitations. It's not the typical yoga and that is what's so great about it. I don't think you'll regret getting this video. Good luck!

Video says it is suitable for wheelchair users, but rarely shows how. A lot of time spent showing/explaining "alternate moves", but the wheelchair participants are only randomly shown in a small window in background. If you cannot get up and down from floor, the movements are limited.

I was curious about this DVD. I am an avid home exercise person and have used many yoga videos before. Yoga is one of the few forms of exercise that does make the mind and body connection making you feel better. "Dahn Yoga for MS and Similar conditions" goes beyond that. I have relapsing remitting form of MS and have seen a decline in my physical abilities since my diagnosis a year ago. My right hand is much weaker, pins and needles sensation, spasticity, and a lack of feeling or ability to grip things. I tried this DVD just tonight and did the entire thing start to finish and watched the interviews at the end. This one session alone helped me so tremendously. I don't feel any spasticity in my right hand and its the closest its felt to normal since my crazy journey of symptoms with MS has begun. It actually feels better, I'm astounded and tremendously grateful to find this DVD. If anyone has or knows someone with MS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia etc... Run to do not walk to the computer to order this one,its a keeper. I have done various forms of yoga this one is different. Think gentle physical therapy exercises meets yoga, massage and reflexology rolled into one. That's what this one is like and its fabulous. In my opinion if it can help someone who suffers from a chronic debilitating illness/disease like MS and yeild benefits to their mobility and ability, drug and doctor free, I say its worth a shot. You won't be sorry to try this one. I'm hooked on it after one try. Its not a cure but its a tool to help you to tread successfully rather than drown in the dread of your illness. Why not be better, not bitter. Seeing the interviews at the end was truly inspiring and the transformations its made in the participants life and mobility is not something to be ignored, its to be applauded. They are heroes and hope for a better quality of mobility and life. There is a reason why doctors and physical therapists recommend yoga, it works! This DVD is a gem. Try it!!!

I AM SO THANKFUL by Cathy Downie (Glendale, Arizona) 5 Stars

I am so thankful to be part of such a wonderful aid to help people with MS and similar conditions. The members from my classes are so proud of their accomplishments and they want others to experience how they can change the quality of their life. As an instructor of these classes I like to give the DVD to new members to help them reinforce what I teach in the classes. It is also great for the members who cannot attend class. These simple exercises and breathing techniques are great tools to help with symptoms of fatigue, balance and stiffness. At the release party for this DVD the members of the class demonstrated some of the exercises shown in the DVD. The guests were amazed at the energy from the members. Everyone was smiling and felt so connected. We are so happy to be able to now share through this DVD with others throughout the country.

this is not yoga  by Matthew J. Taylor (Scottsdale, AZ USA) 1 Stars

This is neither classical or modern yoga therapy. It is some sort of oriental medicine and has no research supporting the many ridiculous claims made in the dvd.
