Description
The purpose of this program is to help you avoid a stroke. If you've already had one, I'd like to help you prevent a second one.Stroke is the second leading cause of death in this country, but it is the leading cause of debilitation. It steals productive years and takes away your independence. There are recognized risk factors for stroke. Many of these are the same as those for a heart attack, but stroke has its own unique risks too. In this program, I delineate these carefully. Additionally, one of the drugs that is most commonly used to prevent heart attacks does little toward stroke prevention.Frequently we have a warning that big trouble lies ahead. A common warning of a possible stroke in the offing is called a transient ischemic attack, or TIA. A TIA is the temporary starving of brain cells for red blood and the oxygen and nutrients it carries. In other words, blood flow to a certain are of the brain is suddenly blocked - usually due to a clot - and then it becomes restored. Brain cells don't tolerate even brief cessation of blood flow very well. They immediately begin to lose function. As blood is restored, brain function returns. In this DVD, I tell you of the causes of stroke, and how you can modify those causes. I tell you of the various warning signs of a TIA and when to get help. I tell you about some hereditary problems that can be passed from one generation to another - and how to screen for them. Why is a cardiologist doing this? Because almost all strokes occur due to disease within the heart or blood vessels! Not only that, but the disease states that frequently lead to those end products are the ones under the domain of a cardiologist.Again, my mantra is "Protect the heart." And my follow-up mantra is "What's good for the heart is good for the brain." Let's protect your brain! This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media.
