My husband and I have lived in Hawai'i before, and found this DVD to be very true to life with respect to the colors displayed. It is very beautiful and peaceful to watch, and we have enjoyed it on several occasions in the month that we have had it. I would highly recommmend it to anyone that has either been to Hawai'i or would like to go there.

This DVD is beautiful. It is filmed in HD and widescreen. The widescreen feature is important if you have a newer flat panel television. The quality of this DVD is excellent. No human voice narration. Just relaxing sounds of the waves rolling on several different Hawaii beaches. The DVD arrived promptly after my order was placed. I highly recommend this DVD! I am hoping the people who make this DVD can format the same beaches video for iPod. They have samples at iTunes, but they have to be converted to iPod format which takes a long time for the 2 minute clips. I am waiting for hour long beach videos already formatted for syncing with my iPod. Nice job on the DVD! If you purchase this DVD you will happy.

I bought this DVD based on seven 5-star reviews here. I had actually been looking for a less tropical oceanfront DVD, but apparently there are none out there showing waves crashing on the rocky coast of Maine (or anything along those lines) ... none that I could find, anyway. So, I went for what seemed to be the pick of the litter of the tropical ones. I have never seen sand in real life as yellow as it is in this video: mustard yellow. Curry yellow. REALLY yellow, and very distracting. I must say, though, that I've never been to Hawaii; is the sand there actually that yellow? The color of the water looked true and beautiful, but oh, that sand! My other criticism of this video involves the frequent scene changes. I'd have found it far more relaxing if the camera had remained in one spot. I find watching (and listening to) waves coming ashore very relaxing, and can do it in one spot for hours, but I found the frequent scene changes in this movie jarring. The most relaxing thing I saw was when the camera focused for a VERY short time on a seal sunning himself on the beach at the water's edge. His eyes were closed and he looked so very relaxed that I could have watched him and the water gently lapping there for quite some time, but in short order the scene changed again. In fact, there are more than 45 scene changes; how in the world is that relaxing? I would have had more of a true feeling of being there had the camera filmed in only one spot. I knew that beaches on four different islands had been filmed, but with the video being 90 minutes long, I thought maybe I'd get about 22 minutes in one spot for each beach. You don't get anything remotely close to 22 minutes in one spot here, though. I'm glad that a number of other people love this video, but I wanted to warn those of you who may be looking for the kind of thing that I was that this SO does not fill the bill.

I bought this for my father who is suffering from Altzheimers. Everything on tv seems to upset him nowadays, but I am hoping this will help him relax. There is a pay channel specifically for babies that runs for free now and then on satellite, and it had a scene with waves crashing against rocks that seemed to help. This seems much more detailed and colorful and I'm sure it will be effective, if nothing else it will certainly help ME relax!

I love my Hawaii Beaches DVD. I live in Buffalo NY, and winter can be hard. But with Beaches, winter just got a little bit warmer. I play this dvd *a lot*, just as background in my home. Instead of looking outside at the gray bleak, I can gaze at soothing waves, and glorious sunsets.
Hawaii Beaches is multi-purpose. Besides just making me happy because it's pretty, I use Beaches as an exercise DVD with my rowing machine and treadmill. Pop in the DVD, and I am rowing my kayak, or jogging on the beach at sunset. Awesome.
And it's an instant Beach Party! With the different soundtracks to choose from, I have a tiki lounge in my living room, and the margaritas are pouring. My friends love it--gorgeous images, shot beautifully, wide-screen, no camera jiggle. And no people in the shots! It's like you're on your own private beach. This DVD takes you away from the ordinary, and puts you in a place of bliss. Love it.
Highly recommended for relaxation and escape.
