EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Window of Hope is an award-winning, half-hour documentary about HIV/AIDS in Africa that tells the story of a few ordinary people who are accomplishing extraordinary things: They are teachers.
Africa is at the center of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Yet in Africa, as elsewhere in the world, most of the school children are not infected. HIV/AIDS may not be curable but it is entirely preventable, and if teachers can help the children to avoid infection as they grow up then this would change the face of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in a generation. The school children are a Window of Hope into the future.
The documentary, which was shot on location in Kenya and Ghana, shows teachers reaching out to their students during critical years to educate them about HIV/AIDS and develop the life skills to avoid infection. It follows three dynamic teachers as they spread their knowledge to children, parents and teachers who, in turn, are spreading this knowledge to others in their communities.
Produced in partnership with the World Bank and Irish Aid. |
