| Best Straight Mustard Ever by Mr Hulot (Maine and China) 5 Stars October 05, 2009 When you say "mustard" this is the stuff you should mean-- fragrant, acidic, sublime. Unfortunately, the price reflects not only the wretched value of the dollar against the Euro, but a 100% tax imposed by the US government! Imposed during the Clinton years, the 100% tariff on French Mustard still remains on the books-- and it's more than high time it came off! Write your Senators and Reps-- I just picked up two jars in Paris at an overpriced shop there-- at under 10 Euros each!
If you can't wait, though, for the wheels of government to grind this mustard fine, exceedingly fine, then pony up the extra dosh and get some. Me, I'll be bringing a bigger suitcase next time, and considerably more than two jars home with me!
| | What Mustard is SUPPOSED to taste like by L. Imhoff (Washington, DC) 5 Stars September 04, 2009 Absolutely delicious on a simple grilled sausage; critical in certain recipes. This product bears no resemblance to the overprocessed, over-colored, over-sugared GLOP that passes for mustard in this country; the mustard seeds are whole and fill your mouth with flavor. Subtly different from Dijon mustard, which is made with white wine, Moutarde Meaux is made with vinegar and the added tang is just sublime... No pantry should be without it, and you will never, ever go back to the yellow stuff.
| | Perfect mustard by Jason (Santa Clara, CA United States) 5 Stars August 29, 2009 I love this mustard! It has a tangy flavor that enhances every food it is paired with. The appearance is unlike traditional yellow mustard, this mustard looks like tiny seeds with a small amount of clear liquid. The result is perfection - smooth with a bold flavor that is something like a "wasabi mustard." The thing is, it is REAL mustard, not a modern interpretation. I learned about this product at Costco one day on a sample table, and with Amazon's help I hope to always have this in my kitchen!
