Product Description
The BIOSAFE Prostate Screen is a laboratory blood test that measures a chemical substance produced by the prostate gland called Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA). Small amounts of this substance can be measured in the bloodstream by the Prostate Screen. Certain conditions of the prostate may raise the level of PSA in the blood and, while elevated levels of PSA are not harmful, they are an important signal of possible prostate disease. The BIOSAFE Prostate Screen provides you with an accurate, convenient, and inexpensive way to discover you own PSA level. The specimen collection process is quick, easy and virtually painless. Using the special lancet (included in the BIOSAFE Blood Collection Kit), a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of a finger and deposited onto a special collection card. The card is then sent to BIOSAFE Laboratories for analysis. BIOSAFE tests your blood sample to see how much PSA is present and then mails the results back to you in an easy-to-read, understandable report. Includes laboratory authorization form; blood collection card in foil pouch; easy to understand instructions; alcohol prep; gauze pad; 2 lancets; adhesive bandage; and postage paid return mail envelope. |

I did biosafe PSA test and at the same time went to a local clinic and had another PSA test made the result that came from the local clinic was almost 40% higher than Biosafe result. I am completely confused are there differnt methods with different results??? which one is the correct one.!!!

I took the test and mailed in the results. I got a phone call from the company that my test results were very high. I never received the written test results. I made an appointment with a urologist and took the same test using a normal lab. My results were normal.

I think this is a wonderful product to use in conjunction with - or in between - annual physician visits. Some insurance plans may not cover the costs of more than 2 PSA tests annually. If men are worried about rising levels in the meantime, this may be a terrific choice. I think it's also an excellent option for men who may not be making regular physical visits and are reluctant to get tested (wives/partners - take the initiative!). The fine print, however, reads that this kit is not for anyone post-prostate cancer treatment (which we didn't know when we ordered). The lowest reading goes only to .06. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to stay on top of PSA counts.

I was very pleased with the test. It came quickly and the instructions were clear and simple. Once I sent it in to Biosafe Laboratory the results came back within a couple of weeks.
