Structured for panoramic viewing, the mirror features two adjustable side panels, plus a center section with regular reflection on one side and 5X magnification on the other. Two bars of fluorescent lighting offer cool, glare-free illumination, and the color-correct light menu lights your face for day or evening, the office or home. A built-in outlet accommodates curling irons and roller sets, while an adjustable backstand offers 11 angles to work from. The entire unit folds up flat for storage. Though the mirror does not feel as substantial as the company's all-metal models, it does roll several features into one compact model. In addition, the reflection is consistently clear, and the side panels stay put where you place them. Fully extended, the mirror measures 19 by 12 inches. I had very high hopes for this and ordered despite many not so favorable reviews. The first thing I noted was that the mirror is very small. It does tilt which makes it easier to see, but still it was difficult to see my whole face good. The next thing was the lights. Switching between the settings was difficult and I was afraid I was going to break it. I tried the daylight first and it was TERRIBLE! The "daylight" light lit up my face in a very unnatural way. It was like the light lit up the center of my face bright but cast dark shadows around the sides if that makes sense. I used to put on my makeup directly in front of a natural window and can tell you this "daylight" setting was NO WHERE near realistic. Unfortunately it only got worse from there. The "work" literally turned my whole face green, the "night" turned me dark pink and the "home" turned me light pink. I asked my husband, thinking perhaps I was being too critical. He took one look at all the different light settings and agreed that it seemed cheap and impossible to even sit in front of it with the bright lights for more than a minute, let alone put on makeup and look good! His first words were "send it back- it's junk!". So, all in all, I am sending this back tomorrow.

I love this mirror. I had one similar to this for years and it broke. I bought another mirror with a very small bulb and it was awful. Like putting makeup on in the dark! This mirror has florescent bulbs just like my original mirror and it works great. Nice and bright!!

I read all the reviews on this product and purchased it with caution. I am so pleased with the mirror so far! The lighting is great and the size is perfect. The side mirrors stay in place well, and I really love all the different settings. I have not had any of the problems others listed with the lighting...you just have to hold the ON switch down for a couple seconds and then it shines very brightly. I have tried 3 different mirrors; the round and oval versions, but this is definitely my favorite. It reminds me of the kind my Grandma used growing up. Very happy with the product!

After my first one "expired" after several years, I bought a Conair mirror which was so inferior I immediately ditched it and purchased this model. It is far superior to any I've used. I wouldn't hesitate to gift this item.

This unit is just what I have been looking for. The other units you see have bulbs that get HOT these use cooler flourescent bulbs and provide better light.
The only down side is if you have to replace the bulbs. Otherwise, excellent product.
