So, I was reading through a magazine and I happened upon an article discussing using magnetic rollers to tame hard to manage hair. Hmmmm.... I have been using large barrelled curling irons, or just going with the kinky frizz (for the record, I am a white woman of Irish descent, everyone says that is where I got my crazy typically "non-white" hair.... but who knows... genetics are strange.) You have to understand, being a white girl with crazy hair sucks. You don't have mom's or older sisters or aunts to guide you. They all just look at you with pity while they toss their silky straight hair and you just wish and wish and wish that you had silky straight hair instead of a brillo pad on top of your head. So, having a mother with bone straight hair and no freinds with brillo pad hair I turned to horrible ways to straighten my hair. This led down a path of embarrassing school photos and fried, broken hair. Not pretty. I had decided to give up on my search for nervana and just go with the kink. This I did. I embraced it, but never really liked it. Than I discovered articles for women of color. I thought, maybe I should read some of this since we have similar hair. I have learned alot from these wonderful women with all of their advice and learned to tame my hair without having it fall out. Large barrelled curling irons were two-faced freinds as long as I didn't wash my hair more than twice a week, only used the curling iron once a week and conditioned it like crazy. Still, my hair was dry and had plenty of split ends. It was definitely NOT silky. Than... I happened upon that article about taming your hair with magnetic rollers. While searching for magnetic rollers on Amazon, I found the Carruso (a miracle?) ;) I read all of the reviews. I love you Amazon for your reviews and will remain a faithfull Amazon shopper because of these said reviews. Than I went on other web sites, and read all of the reviews there (long hair forums etc...)..... Than I went out and bought a steam roller set. I went to Sally Beauty because for $5.75 you get a two year warranty, I defintely decided on the warranty, because the only apparent downfall of this product is it's tendency to stop working in the first year . Sorry Amazon, but I HAD to have one immediately, so off to Sally I went! Well my freinds.... the verdict after my first foray into steam rollers: Silky hair. No damage. I feel free. I may have to buy some more of these, just in case one breaks and the store is closed! I think I love this Carruso... whoever he/she is.........:)

I have used the setter about four times so far and with every use it gets better and better. My first try it took me about an 1 hour and 15 mins. to complete. Over the weekend I used it and it took about 30 mins. this time. I am an AA and my hair gets pretty frizzy and it works wonders on my hair (except for the new growth). The only thing I would suggest is to use a little moisturizer on your ends and end paper to combat the frizz.

I like to curl my hair on a daily basis to get rid of frizz and this is the only invention that does NOT damage my hair! I think it actually puts moisture back into my hair! Shiny, natural looking curls! I bought a back up set just in case this one ever breaks!!

Searched high and low for this product, the smaller version, no stores around me carry this product only the large size and did not want to pay the $50.00 plus price. Found exactly what I was looking for thru Amazon and at a great price, ordered with no problems and received product within reasonable time limit. This is the only hair setter that works for me been using since about 2000.
Happy to have curls again.
