My hair is short, so I wasn't sure how much use I would get from the CHI, but everyone I know who has one, likes it. So I bought this CHI from Amazon. As I said I wear my hair short, but when I used this item, it made my hair have more volume, and body. Boy, this item is worth its weight in gold! The added bonus is, the fact you can use it daily and your hair will remain in good condition. No burning of the hair, in spite of the heat. The ceramic plates work a miracle on your hair. The CHI is expensive, but worth the cost.

Although I read many reviews about this item breaking within a short period of time, I took a chance and purchased it through Amazon. Well, it worked great.. gets very hot and does not have a temperature control, but does the job. Received it in the mail at the beginning of October, and it just stopped working, at the end of November! It smelled like something was burning inside of it, so I turned it off. Well, it won't turn back on. As other reviewers have stated, the warrantly is voided if purchased from Amazon. If you take a chance on this item, good luck.

I bought Chi on Amazon.com from the seller "Salon Products". BE AWARE of this seller! They sell FAKE CHI!! It broke down in 5 month, so I sent it back to manufacture for repair because Chi has a year warranty, but they sent it back to me and said that the item is not authentic so they don't fix it. Company said they don't sell their product on line at all!! (They have a new policy that they don't repair the product if it's purchased online, but the company was very nice about it and they did investigation on my Chi to see if I got fake or not!!) I would NEVER BUY CHI ONLINE again. I had been using chi purchased in beauty shop until it got some connection problems, and it worked Great and lasted 5-6 years. Chi is a great hair iron but Never buy it online. You end up waste your money even you think you are getting a good deal.

I bought several of these, I think it was 4 total. the 1st one broke in about 1 month and the 2nd broke in about 4 months. I'm not sure if the others are still working or if the people I gave them to are just too nice to tell me that they are junk!!
