i don't straighten my hair much but when i do it takes me about 20 minutes and its perfect. I have long crazy curly wavy thick hair. i love it!!

I have had this straightener for about 3 years now. I did not buy it off amazon, but I LOVE this straightener. It's been 3 years and still works perfectly and I straighten my hair almost everyday (but this has been recent like within the last month). If you are looking for a straightener, this is a great investment. One con for people with already straight hair might be that you cannot adjust the temperature. It is standard to "really hot". This works for me, but may not work for everyone.

The CHI is just as amazing as everyone says. However, it is cheaply made. Even though I had read the warnings about the cord breaking, I took a chance and purchased this product. I read the warning from the manufacturer saying that you must not wind the cord around the prongs. I treated it like a much-loved baby.
After about one year of use, the cord remained intact, but THE ON/OFF SWITCH SNAPPED OFF. It is just a tiny piece of flimsy plastic. If it had broken off in the ON position, I could have continued to use it by simply plugging the thing in. However, it broke in the OFF position, and no amount of prodding... pronging... etc... could force it to ON.
Now, I'm stuck with a very expensive piece of junk. The ceramic part looks great, by the way.
Bottom line: This product has cheap mechanisms that will break far sooner than they should.
Heed the warnings of those who say it breaks. I wish I had.

This is my second Chi and I'm just as happy with the second one. The only reason I need a second one is because I couldn't live without my Chi while travelling and it shorted out on me in Europe, leaving my hair half frizzy, half sleek. I was able to order a new one and had it within a few days of getting home.
