| Not so great! by Cotton Flower 2 Stars September 13, 2009 Bought it, tried it and returned it. It's a good idea, but it's just not such a great product. I heard the newer version is better. The one I got is kind of cute (it's pink ) and could be a toy for older kids, but as a child locator, it just doesn't work that well. I am not sure if the battery is old or something else is wrong.
| | Junk by Kitty Litter (L.A. California) 1 Stars July 11, 2009 I bought it & it showed up defective. The bug part worked but the activator wouldn't activate it. I tried buying new batteries but it did nothing. I guess these items are just made cheaply. I had the same thing happen with the Mommy, I'm here locator, the brown bear was a lemon as well. I had several people verify both products were duds in case it was me doing it wrong. I just wouldn't trust any of these, b/c even if I bought another one and it worked, I couldn't trust it to work when my toddler makes a break for it.

The clip is also a tamper resistant safety alarm that sounds if someone takes the bug off your child, or if it becomes dislodged. | | Yellow Bug Child Locator by James White (Goliad, Texas) 1 Stars March 16, 2009 Almost a piece of junk. It sort of works. I finally opened mine and removed the batteries and threw the rest of the contraption away.
| | Do NOT buy this craptastic product! by H. Johnson (Eastofsunwestofmoon, Utah, USA) 1 Stars November 08, 2008 You know the old expression: "you get what you pay for"?
Well, in the case of the Giggle Bug Toddler Tracker (hereafter GB) you get LESS than you paid for.
At the time when I read the reviews for the GB on Amazon there were 3 strongly in favor and 3 strongly against. I (foolishly) figured those numbers equal out to an average quality device. For only ~$20 I decided it was worth it.
Oh, how wrong I was.
You see, the GB is cheap (in cost) because it is VERY cheap (in construction quality).
It has 50% love/50% hate reviews because it is sooo cheaply made that it arrives non-functional (or soon breaks) 50% of the time.
Guess how my roll of the GB dice turned out? Yep. Non-functional.
Changed the batteries. Alarm blared uncontrollably at random intervals.
Returned it, they sent another: broke in half the first time we used it (without any rough use from our child).
Absolutely craptastic. $20 is no bargain if it is 50% likely to NOT work.
We found a better overall reviewed device (more expensive) that works great and is sturdy.
Child trackers are a great idea, but get one that is sturdy and with good reviews.
Yes, you will have to pay more for it... isn't your child worth the money?
I wouldn't buy my dog one of these crappy Giggle Bugs.
