If you have difficulty swallowing pills forget these. They are the biggest pills I have ever had. I can barely get them down, I have had to chew them up which is nasty.

This product is very good. However, I took it by itself and was feeling great for a while, until all of a sudden I noticed it was making me tired. I asked my chiropractor about this problem I had with magnesium, and he told me about the 2-1 rule with calcium and magnesium: two parts calcium with one part magnesium.
If you take magnesium alone, you will not get as good of a benefit as is otherwise possible. This product: Source Naturals Coral, Calcium/Magnesium, 2:1 Ratio, Tablets, 180 tablets is much better for obtaining a better balance of magnesium. Potassium Carlson Laboratories - Complexed Potassium, 99 mg, 250 tablets is also something to look into, as if someone is deficient in magnesium/calcium, they could be deficient in potassium. Keep in mind with potassium, however, that less is better; potassium is used in lethal injections, and was Dr. Kevorkian's preferred method of euthanasia. That said, magnesium and calcium go together, but potassium does not.
Sorry to get sidetracked, but hopefully this information will help someone besides me. Magnesium is absolutely critical as supplements go; but if you don't get the right balance, or get too much magnesium, you can get the same problems as magnesium deficiency, only worse:[...]. My chiropractor said he never heard of anyone having problems using calcium with magnesium in a 2-1 ratio.
If you are already getting enough calcium, then this product is top notch. I liked this product more than Source Naturals Magnesium Chelate, 100 mg, Tablets, 250 tablets (Pack of 3) or Source Naturals Ultra-Mag, Tablets, 240 tablets (Pack of 2).
Supplementation, to me, is a lot about trial and error. And regardless of what anyone says, there is no universal cure-all. If you are looking for that type of product, then look somewhere else and save your money.

Using this Mag Malate product at the rate of 6 tabs a day (2 pills 3x/day, with meals = about 800 mg.) has made a dramatic improvement in my husband's primary long-standing Raynaud's disease. He normally has ice-cold fingers and toes -- to the point of complete discoloration -- even in hot weather, and even more so when stressed or fatigued. (See the Wiki article for description and photos.) He has been taught & used relaxation/breathing techniques and can warm up his fingers that way, but it takes time and is not always convenient.
He is NOT much of a pill taker at all, but in just these two weeks of use, he has become committed to this product. His fingers are warm and a normal red color now.
This product does not cause loose stools (diarrhea) like mag citrate could at this dosage. We have now put it on auto-ship, which makes it less expensive. For two people, one bottle lasts one month (6 pills/day x 30 days = 180 pills; x two people = 360 pills.)
We'll report further if it helps with other chronic health conditions we are trying it for.

The mineral magnesium is largely overlooked as a nutrient which is essential for good health. Most doctors and laboratories don't even include magnesium status in routine blood tests. Thus, most doctors don't know when their patients are deficient in magnesium, even though the majority of Americans are deficient in magnesium. And magnesium deficiency is very important. In fact, magnesium deficiency is a significant factor -- often the major factor -- in many severe illnesses including heart attacks and other forms of heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, fatigue, diabetes, migraines and other headaches, osteoporosis, insomnia, and most cases of muscular problems. Because magnesium deficiency is largely overlooked, millions of Americans suffer needlessly from the foregoing ailments or are having their symptoms treated with expensive drugs (which often have unpleasant or dangerous side effects) when many could be cured with magnesium supplements such as this.
