It's easy to apply the cuff to your arm without any assistance -- simply wrap the cuff around your arm and press start. In seconds your blood pressure and pulse are displayed on the large digital panel. To take an accurate reading, first position the green marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, place your arm on a table so the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Instructions for Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this blood pressure monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm. Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. I had a blood pressure monitor but this is a good upgrade from the previous. It allow 2 people to monitor there blood pressure separately and you can very easily download your data to the software which comes with the monitor. The monitor keeps tract of the time of day so that the software can show if you took your pressure in the morning, during the day, or night. There are also markings on the blood pressure cuff to make sure you put it on correctly.

Alright, I'm not too happy about buying one of these, but since my doctor told me to buy a good one, I did some research and here's where I landed. Amazon's price blew away any local retailer. Too bad for them, but I just can't afford to pay twice as much locally.
This thing works great, and I can take measurements in the morning and at night and have it average my readings. My wife can also use it to show off while not messing up my history.

Appears to be very accurate. Easy to use. Software could be more detailed but is very useful to show the doctor on what your blood pressure is doing throughout a 24 hour, 7 days a week period.
I would recommend this machine.

Hi,
I bought this and used it for the last 3 weeks. It is very accurate (tested at doctors office against their machine (same brand)). The software and computer link up provides good information and the doctor was impressed with the data it supplied. This device is very good and I recommend this model if you want to keep track of you blood pressure, but do not want to write it down. You can buy lesser models of the same brand, but for the ease of use factor of the software interface, I highly recommend spending the x more dollars to get this model.
It is a good value and works well.

The Omron HEM-790IT is an easy to use BP monitor. It seems to be consistent and accurate.
Make sure you set the date and time correctly on the machine and don't accidentally change it because once you download the data into its "Not Quite so" Advanced Management Software you are stuck with it. Yes there is NO WAY to edit your data once it is downloaded. This means you cannot delete errant data either. There is no end to the irritation that this causes me. That alone made my blood pressure shoot sky high.
I was able go into their program and find the data base file "omron.mdb". I thought that I could edit the data directly myself but it was password protected. Don't expect any help from their tech support because you won't get any. I eventually cracked the password myself hence making the software satisfactorily usable. If I was not able to do that I would have returned the machine for a cheaper one, and not pay the extra price for their worthless software.
I gave this a 2-star based on the software. I would give it a 4-star based on the BP monitor. It could use a slightly longer connection hose.
