This microscope is truly a miracle!!! I am not paid by Fetile Focus to give this review. I just simply bought it and it did exactly what it said. I did not become pregnant yet, but I definitely saw a ferning pattern for 1 day and day 2 had a transitional pattern which means ovulation just happened. Don't pay attention to the bad reviews when ordering this product. The lens on my microscope is a little scratched, but I dont mind it. EVEN IF YOU LENS IS SCRATCHED YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE RESULTS. I clean my lens with just water and i use my finger to wipe it...then I shake it to get most of the water off and I insert it back into the tube. I dont even wait to dry it. It works PERFECTLY. It is definitely worth the money and predicting ovulation...However if you do not get pregnant that doesn't mean it's the microscope's fault...sometimes the egg doesn't get fertilized, maybe some women may have Luteal Phase defects where you detect a surge (ferning pattern) and DO NOT ovulate, or hormone levels are not working properly (not enough/too much estrogen or progesterone). Fertile Focus does work!!! If you use it correctly it will not disappoint. Good luck to all those trying to conceive!

I've noticed too that you need a good bit of saliva to see results. When I put a smudge on it, or even licked it as suggested, I only saw dots. I put a big drop of saliva (fresh from under the tongue's saliva duct is best) and voila! Lots of ferns! If you don't see a ferning pattern the first time, keep trying. Also, I put mine next to a warm light to speed up the drying time (still takes 30-45 mins for a big drop of saliva). A hair dryer won't work! It causes the saliva to have a different, streaked pattern that looks similar to ferning though.

This item is pure genius. It worked perfectly for me. I used it so often that I had to change the batteries less then 2 months after buying it. I am happy to announce that I found out I was pregnant yesterday all thanks to my handy little Fertile Focus!
Use it as directed! I even washed my hands in the morning so that I didn't contaminate my saliva when applying it to the lens. My only complaint is that it takes forever for my saliva to dry because I would put an ample drop on there but that has nothing to do with the function of the microscope. The light is bright and hard to look into at first but you get used to it. I actually held the lens piece in one hand and the lighted piece in the other hand about an inch-or-so back to dim the light. That also helped create a slight contrast that made the ferns show up even better.

We use a fertility microscope to supplement our NFP practices. We had been using the IGIA "Perfect Time" for years, but it broke after being dropped.
The "Fertile-Focus" microscope is better built, as it has a metal casing, but requires more work to focus it to see the ferning pattern (i.e. the 3 seconds it takes to twist the top lens). It also does not have a flat bottom, which just bothers me that I have to lay it on its side, rather than stand it up (nit-pick). Other than that it does the job quite well.
