would be much better with a jell top bar, under high pressure (14bar) settings it will nearly cut your face if tightened enough to stop leaks

it's a mask, get over it. by Edward A. Woodward 4 Stars

it fits my machine it firs my face it stops me from needing to fight with my insurance to make them buy exactly the same thing after a huge hassle and me paying this price or more in co-pays. beyond that, all i can say, is read the directions, there are hints in there that will make the mask more comfortable, and in my experience last longer.

The materials they use can cause your face to break out in rash by Trillum (Portland OR) 1 Stars

I had this mask for about two weeks. They said it would conform to my face after awhile because the gel will warm up and mold to my face. Well there is this thin soft plasic like material that protects your face from the gel. Whatever material it is it made my face break out in a rash which is not uncommon from what I have googled. The HMO took it back and replaced it with an Optilife Pillow, they said they would use my used Comfort Gel Nasal mask for people who need a sleep study. I wasn't sure that was a sanitary practice but I have since left that questionable HMO. So if you get one of these make sure it is new and hasn't been used. This Comfort Gel Nasal mask has this big bulky forehead piece that would wake me up when ever I rolled to my side. It would be moved by my pillow and then cause me to wake up. It looks fancy but it is a big old albatrose method of providing air to someone who is trying to sleep. I think they get a deal on these from manufacturer since these are cheaper than other masks and maybe because so many return them. I returned mine. I am now using a Optilife Pillow with the cradle cushion that is less invasive and does not cause me any rashes. It is made from the same allusive manufacturer who avoids interfacing with the folks who actually end up with their head gear. I did have problems with that one as well, unseating because the head straps would slip around on my hair unseating the cradle causing me to wake up. I learned on a forum, not from the manufacturer nor the vendor (my HMO technician) or the head of the HMO dept how to fix it. If you pull your hair through the straps it helps prevent it from slipping over your hair. This has helped significantly. Pretty simple really. The HMO head of the sleep department recommend bobby pins which I tried and failed miserably. So if the manufacture won't work with you and the vendors haven't a clue then you are on your own trying to find a real solution. The people who sell this stuff really don't know how to fit you with the right equipment and it is a trial and error sort of method you need to figure out. I am pretty shocked at how the manufacturer has no real support for consumers but rather refers you to whom ever sold the head gear to you. So it is important who you buy from and how they handle the very common situation of if the unit is not working for you, then what? These head gear units can be expensive and about every six months or sooner they may need to be replaced so they are not designed to last a long time. Again the manufacturers don't want to hear from you about this either. I am still looking for a better designed head gear and nasal pillow that stays put and won't unseat causing leaking and waking me up. I don't know if such a thing has been invented yet. You would have thought someone could have designed better head gear that works for more folks. If you go on message boards you will learn about how many folks have tried many types and makes of head gear to try to find something that works for them. This is why the manufacturers do not want to talk to consumers and refer you to venders. They are tired of the complaints.

The comfort gel prevents air leakage. My comfort gel mask has lasted longer than other CPAP masks I have worn. I highly recommend purchasing two masks so that one can dry thoroughly after it is washed while the other one can be worn.
