Having used herbal remedies successfully in the past, I purchased this for my daughter in hopes that it would help with her painful/heavy periods.
I was planning to start giving it to her this week, and decided to check the label to see what herbs were used. I'm no herbalist, but I was surprised to see Belladonna is used. My sister is an amateur herbalist with over 20 years experience - she was shocked that the product was allowed to be sold. I did some research online, and most of the sites I visited indicated that Belladonna is indeed poisonous, and should be used only be professionals. I understand that there are many ways to use herbs, and reactions vary based on the amount of the herb & what it is used with, but I don't feel comfortable giving this product to my teen.
I also noticed that the supplement label was a sticker on the bottle (probably to conform to US requirements), and that the product is made in South Africa, where they obviously regulate their remedies differently.
I know there are many other remedies out there that are less likely to cause harm, and will keep looking for something to help my daughter; I don't feel comfortable using this one.
