I bought this item for my 14 year old teenager and it has been an amazing purchase. It heats up fast, is easy to open and shut and hold closed, and it straightens at record speed. The design is very modern, we are very pleased with this product and it's price.

This product works... fine... when it actually decides to heat. I bought it online and used it maybe 3 times and it has completely stopped heating. Such a buzzkill. I didn't have the time or energy to return it and shipping it to Andis is a huge pain in the butt so I'm trashing it. To prospective customers: I recommend you spend your money elsewhere. I might've been unlucky and gotten the one defective one but I don't think it's worth going through the hassle to risk it. Spend an extra $10 and get a different brand.

This is a pretty good straightener and I like the added convenience of being able to use without blowdrying first (does take longer that way, of course). Biggest drawback is that the plates have just enough of a gap in their brackets that -- unless you are careful -- catches your hair.

I've always had straight hair so I never saw the need to have a flat iron, however, college life has kept me a bit busy and there are mornings when I just dont have time to blow dry which can leave me with that stupid scrunchie ring. Scrunchie ring drives me insane. I bought this product because my friend, Anne, has a Chi and can't stop ranting and raving about it. Of course her hair has a bit of curl to it but I was curious what one of these things would do for my hair. After a lot of research, I saw that this little thing actually got better reviews then the Chi and decided to give it a try. Now, I've only used it once so I am by no means an expert, but I was so impressed I just had to hop on here and list some its amazing features.
1) Light weight and easy to store.
2) Heats up relatively quick. Lets you know with a green light that STOPS flashing when its reached desired setting.
3) Heat settings. (I had no clue such an inexpensive item would come with so many little extras.)
4) Plate locking mechanism at the back to hold iron closed.
5) Cools down just as fast.
6) It really does leave your hair feeling salon fresh.
7) Rubber thumb knobs on the tip of the iron so you can press the plates together or hold it to flip/style ends.
8) Impressive look. Although the price was fairly cheap it by no means looks that way.
I look forward to using it while my hair is wet, but for now I definitely got my monies worth.
