| WOW! by American Express (az) 5 Stars January 28, 2009 I wish someone, anyone had told me about this product years ago. I've been suffering from severe meno symptoms since the age of 35. At age 40, I was ready to check myself in the mental ward. It began working the moment I rub the cream on my lower abdomen. My entire mood changed. Finally, I was my normal self again. I even had a good nights sleep. It's sad that more women aren't sharing how hard menopause can be for others. The doctors tried to give me everything else( like antidepressants, antianxiety meds, HRT , etc.). Yet, not one of them encouraged me to take something natural. I'd recommend this product to anyone and everyone.
| | Excellent by Terlyn (CA) 5 Stars January 11, 2009 Excellent........ at age 51 it regulates my cycles, removes moods and hot flashes, plus gives me hope.
Many women say they've tried progesterone creams and received no benefit, but I have noticed two possible
reasons. 1. they don't know how much to use for their need or give up before a two month time period
OR 2. they aren't disciplined to use it as directed. I've dealt with horrendous hormone problems my entire life and I know for a fact that each new stage may require a new treatment plan. Sometimes it's walking and a strict hi-dosage vitamin regime, in the middle years it may include a low dose of cream, and in the change of cycle time, it will definitely require a higher dosage. But...how do you know? First - read, read and read some more, then go to a MDDO, or a compounding pharmacist, or an up to date educated PA or gynecologist. Our 25 year old daughter is also using this cream for her intense and debilitating PMS symptoms (1/4 t on days 14-28) and she has discovered new life! Personally, for my years leading up to menopause, I use 1/4 t. twice a day on days 4-28. This has caused my non-stop period to go back to a 3 day cycle.
An added bonus: this product does not have side effects like I've discovered with other brands.
So, don't be afraid to spend some money or time and get informed. You (and your family!) will be glad you did!
| | Best Progesterone Product by Marlene S. Pedersen (Manalapan NJ) 4 Stars January 06, 2009 I've done quite a bit of research and found that this product is often recommended by the health professionals that believe in progesterone supplementation. I am 51 years old and have used it for about a year and I feel better. Not sure if it's the power of suggestion or if this stuff really works, but I'm assuming this stuff really works! Plus, it's paraben free, which is important, and it isn't derived from yam extract. I'm giving it 4 stars since the effectiveness of the product is subjective, and not scientific.
| | Please consider these if you have migaine! by Cf Schmitt (NL) 5 Stars August 24, 2008 If you are considereing using this product to combat 'estrogen dominance' induced migraines, you're on the right track! If you're not sure what that is, but suffer from menstrual migraines, it might be very helpful for you to look it up. I noticed a HUGE improvement in several areas after I started using this product: I experience far fewer migraines, I feel much less irritated, my PMS symptoms have diminished, and my memory has improved. I use 1 tube on days 7 to day 14, 2 tubes from day 15 to day 21 and 3 tubes until day 28. This is not exactly what is recommended, but it works for me. (Another note; this is working well for me in combination with the *very* restricted diet recommended in "Heal Your Headache" by Dr. Buchholz. Eliminating my migraines has required a multi-level approach). You really can do something to help yourself. I wish everyone who is suffering with migraine the best of luck!
| | Relief at last by raphaell (WA) 5 Stars April 20, 2008 I'm 52 and peri-menopausal. I have gotten marginal control of my hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, irritability and thyroid and adrenal insufficiency by using nutrition, exercise, herbs and supplements, essential oils and meditation. But I could not seem to control the severe monthly flooding that was leaving me anemic and weak. Not to be too graphic, but every cycle for the past two years I have used a 'Super Plus' tampon (changed every 20 minutes) plus 2 Heavy Maxi-Pads plus a plastic sheet to sit on in my car and chair ... and I would still have to carry a couple of changes of clothing for emergency bleed-throughs. I was getting to the point of considering a D&C or other surgery. Since having a bad experience with synthetic hormones in the form of birth control, I was very reluctant to try any type of replacement hormone, synthetic or natural. I am a Biologist, and I was skeptical about bio-identical hormones, but the good sense of Dr. John Lee's books and the recommendation of Dr. Christiane Northrup and others convinced me that bio-identical progesterone cream was worth a try. I am thrilled to say that I did give ProGest a chance, and I have just finished my first normal menstrual period in over 2 years: no flooding, no clotting, no pain. I am also sleeping soundly through the night, waking refreshed and rested. An unexpected bonus is that I have lost the nagging pain in my hands and wrists using ProGest topically, and I have dropped retained water weight. I believe ProGest was the missing puzzle piece in my menopausal health regimen, which is now working much better. Don't expect your doctor to give you information concerning the safety and efficacy of OTC bio-identical progesterone cream. Seek out the information and see if ProGest works for you.
